Mom is asking for more Obama ads in NY...
She tells me that MacCain has a lot of ads up, and Obama barely has an on-air presence. And McCrap is creeping up in a "safe" state like NY. SHe can't stand Palin, either.

DO NOT diss my Mom, age 76.

1. If Obama has to spend a dime in NY, he's fucked anyway
No, your Mom is 100% wrong. Obama should spend ZERO money in new york State.

2. tell mom that we NEED the commercials in OH right now .....
Let them focus their money on the states that need it most and then ALL 50 states can share him equally when he becomes President. :)

3. McCain isn't buying ads in the NY market.
At least I can't imagine he is.

She is probably seeing his national ad buys.

I can also tell you that my friends and I in Upstate NY are ready to get to work here. Our local newspapers are filled almost daily with pro-Obama letters to the editor. There are Obama/Biden signs and stickers everywhere. I think we can accomplish enough on the ground here that we won't need to worry much about television spots.

Tell your mom to hang tough. New York will stay blue!!! :)

8. i also believe that people in the end here
will vote dem. i mean, i have to think that a lot of people aren't paying close attention. i think once the debates start we might see things gel up more. there is a reason that palin is avoiding the press. the mccain/palin campain is trying to skate into the white house on palin 'celebrity' so to speak. but i am hoping that if asked actual questions with substance her veneer will be peeled away to reveal the truth. and i also hope that mccain will be pressed on his 72 year old melanoma raged body.

i would like to say that i was watching the palin bio (part of it) the other day. she seems nice enough. in the same way as huckabee. seems nice if it weren't for the flat earth syndrome and the crazy fundie stuff. i think people who are taken with her will end up seeing through it soon.

7. I'm in NY. I have seen only a few actual ads for either side. BUT,
cable 'news' plays the McCain attack ads constantly as part of their 'coverage'. So we absolutely see the McCain ads numerous times and very few Obama ads - I have to watch them online.

9. If NY is even close we know they're trying to set up a color change down the road
A lot of NY polls are switching to touch screen machines this election.

11. Candidates advertise in New York and get New Jersey for FREE!!!!!!!!
Well, actually I guess its built into the ad rates.

TV advertising in metro NYC is also seen in much of New Jersey. If a campaign is not advertising in New York, they must also think they do not need to advertise in New Jersey.
