Research 2000 tracking poll: Obama leads in 3 out of the 4 regions of the country by good margins
Overall Obama leads in this poll by 48-44, but the regional breakdown is interesting:

NORTHEAST 35 58 1 2 0 4
SOUTH 55 37 3 1 1 3
MIDWEST 42 51 2 2 1 2
WEST 42 50 2 2 1 3

Obama leads in the NE by 23-points
Obama leads in the midwest by 9-points
Obama leads in the west by 8-points

What is keeping McCain alive is his 18-point lead in the South.

Also, look at Palin fav/unfav numbers--still falling like a rock!

CANDIDATE FAV UNFAV NO OPINION
MCCAIN 49 45 6
OBAMA 54 37 9
BIDEN 49 32 19
PALIN 45 44 11

1. All the stereotypes about the racist south are proving true....

There's no other explanation for numbers that divergent.

3. it's not that they're racist. It's that they think white people are more intelligent and capable.

5. Yes, it does seem that bad news posts are the ones which get the biggest postings.
