Help me understand this: Palin asks for $400 million for bridge to nowhere. The project is
ridiculed and approval withdrawn. So - she gets the money, anyway????

And she spends it on whatever the hell she wants? Why is the money awarded to her if the project was cancelled?

I even read somewhere that she had a paved road put in, up to the point where the bridge would have been.
Is this all just a bad joke, or what?

1. The compromise was that instead of giving Alaska money for one project...
...Congress gave them the money to spend on any transportation project or projects they chose.

6. Well, that'll show 'er!
- Daddy, can I please have a million dollars to make a dollhouse out of the garage?
- No, that's ridiculous. And to punish you for your dumb thinking, I am going to give you a million dollars
and you can do whatever you like with it.

When did the world become so insane?

7. "for other transportation projects"? Well, when it comes to Palin, you'd better define "transport"
or she might think you're talking about the Rapture.
