Why McCain cannot address golden parachute for Lehman Bros' CEO
As a spinoff from BlueJessamine OP here: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=102x3490731

I want to put the spotlight on another from McCain's campaign. Have you seen her recently?:

Carleton S. (Carly) Fiorina was president and chief executive officer of Hewlett-Packard Company from 1999 to 2005. She served as chairman of the board from 2000 to 2005.

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina received a welcome package worth nearly $100 million when she joined the company in 1999. When she was fired last year, she reportedly received $21 million in severance -- despite a tenure that included poor revenues and heavy worker layoffs.

By the way, both McCain and Palin decried golden parachutes for CEOs. What might Carly Fiorina, a top McCain adviser and surrogate, think of that? She received a $21 million severance package when she was forced out as CEO of Hewlett-Packard, after her not-so-successful stint there--and the value of her golden parachute eventually reached $42 million.

Carly championed firing American employees for cheaper outsourced labor

I know that outsourcing is a controversial subject, and every time a person loses a job in this country it's painful. But every time a person in the global economy gets a stake in the global economy; every time a person is enabled, empowered by a new opportunity; every time an individual says I can change my life, I can make a difference, and I can make a difference in other people's lives - that increases our total security and our total prosperity. So I think there's a lot of upside to the globalization that we need to think about as well.

When the outsourcing of jobs turned into a national political issue, Fiorina became the poster-girl for an industry campaign aimed at blocking any legislation that would restrict a company's ability to can American employees in favor of workers overseas. She and executives from seven other tech companies issued a report that argued that any such measures would hurt the U.S. economy. The best way to increase American competitiveness, they declared, was to improve schools and, yes, reduce taxes. At a Washington press conference, Fiorina said, "There is no job that is America's God-given right anymore. We have to compete for jobs." The remark did not go over well with critics of outsourcing, who have ever since used it as an indicator of corporate insensitivity.

In light of this current economic crisis, we should skewer McCain every time this woman shows her face and speaks to the media.

6. She told Andrea Mitchell it was voted on by the Board.
McCain needs to be asked about having her on his campaign and how does that represent change or reform.

4. Palen had the crowds blowing off the rafters when she announced
John McCain and I will provide tax relief for ALL AMERICANS.

then bellowed loudly John McCain and I will take on Wall Street
and those CEO Salaries.

Republicans look for an issue in every happening, event. They
look for a way to make it emotional. Stir the crowd and keep
the conversation away from the fact that Conservative Economics
of the past 8years in the Senate made the Wall Street Debacle
possible.

No one is discussing that no oversight(by the Senate) and no
regulations permitted Wall Street to do as it pleased.

I will bet many Americans are aware of Palen providing tax relief
for all Americans She and John McCain are going to take on Wall
Street. The little guy is lead to believe the GOP is on his side.
