The Bush/McCain Economy: A Reality Check
Dow the day Bush took office: 10,578
Dow yesterday: 10,917
Net gain: +330

Dow the day Clinton took office: 3,310
Net gain: +7,268

But wait, there's more! If we adjust for inflation, it gets much worse for Bush.

Dow when Bush took office in 2008 dollars: $13,085

Meaning the Dow has LOST 2,168 points in real dollars.

What about Clinton?

Dow when Clinton took office in 2001 dollars: 4,094

Meaning the Dow GAINED 6,484 in real dollars.

A nice talking point for stupid people who insist Republicans manage the economy better than Democrats.
