If you run into any Hillary supporters who like Palin and McCain....
Please have them read this article about McCain and the Republican's idea of Equal Pay for Equal work. Ask them to put themselves in Lilly Ledbetter's shoes.

1. For crap's sake
Can't you just STOP? I do not know ONE Hillary supporter who would consider voting for McCain, much less Palin. Please just give it a rest. You cannot know how irritating it is to keep hearing about the so-called Hillary voters who now want McCain. It's an insult to put Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton in the same sentence (sorry, Hillary!) much less imply that a Hillary supporter would go for that ticket.

6. Neither do I. Every single one is a true democrat who would
rather be enclosed in a snake pit than vote for McCain.

And I agree about Palin and Hillary. There is simply no comparison at ALL. Palin isn't worthy of shining Hillary's shoes.

You know, LisaM, you and I were on different sides during the primary season. But I'm SO proud to be on the same side with you now. Well, I guess we weren't really even on different sides then. We just had a different opinion and that's what democracy is all about. :)

8. I am on the side of the following:
1) Good public education
2) Fierce protection of Roe v. Wade
3) Enlightened foreign policy
4) A strong middle class
5) Great transit
6) Strong environmental protection
7) Caring about the message, not the medium
8) Listening to the candidate, not focusing on the campaign
9) Equality for everyone
10)Strong government regulation for our food, for our banks, and for our future

So I guess if you are for those things, we agree!

Not saying this about you, but can you imagine if (see post below)I accused anyone of voting for a penis?

13. ROFLMAO!!! The picture I got in my head when I read that was, well,
rather obscene. A penis giving a speech. A penis shaking hands on the rope line. Etc.

And yes, I am for all of those things you listed. Every single one of them. :)

Unless Hillary was on it. They're voting for a vagina and that's it.

4. Thankfully the former Hillary supporters I know are all supporting
Obama now. They hate republican ideology and would never vote for a republican in a million years.

I will pass this along to a friend or two who are independents, though. Unfortunately, all my republican family members are sexist, even the women, so the article wouldn't help with them at all. They're of the fundie type who think women should subjugate themselves to their husbands, yada yada yada.

7. I heard a couple of tables of still angry Hillary supporters talking last Sunday in a restaurant...
and they all agreed that voting for McCain was NOT going to happen.

12. We need more stories like this to remind us that the MSM is spewing
bullshit for their own purposes. And to remind ourselves that democrats are intelligent people who will not vote against their own self interests or against their own principles. We are the true values voters and our values are the ones of caring for the sick, giving the poor a hand UP, fostering diplomacy instead of war, equality for ALL people, and on and on.

So thank you for your story. It brightened my day. :)

15. You are very welcome. I hope it's not just because they're Marylanders.
FDR: I wish NY State would permit dead people to vote!
ER: Franklin! That's against the law! But I would like to vote for Mr. Obama...

9. I've begun to come around realize what others have been saying ...
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 12:22 PM by elkston
Just as Obama brought in many new voters to the scene (young people, apathetic black voters, pissed off Repubs.), Hillary attracted Conservative women who may not have identified strongly with her Democratic message, but admired her personality and inner strength.

When she went away, those conservative women who loved her for being Hillary, dropped out of the mix into the undecided column. And now that Palin is here, they are more strongly breaking for McCain.

I don't think we ever lost that many *true* democractic women. A few maybe, but the bulk have been those who might have tended to vote Republican.

The good news is, Barack's coalition is just as large and ever growing.

11. Hey, I just suggested if you run into any, I never said there were any left...
Hard to believe there would be after the Palin pick. If you can't get em to read the article I guess there is no hope and we should move on the next open minded voter....if there are any of them.

23. I know several people who supported Hillary during the primaries, as I did.
All of these people now support Obama. Why? Because he is the Democratic nominee and they are Democrats. I have yet to meet anyone who supported Hillary who now supports McCain/Palin.

I don't know what anyone hopes to accomplish by continuing to post such divisive threads.
