"It seems like John's had an epiphany..... (Biden! strikes again)
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 01:35 PM by tekisui
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080916/ap_on_el_pr/candidates_economy

(snip)

Democratic vice presidential candidate Joe Biden countered that the Republican campaign's message was at odds with itself with McCain saying the economy's fundamentals were sound but that urgent repairs were needed.

"It seems like John's had an epiphany. Nine o'clock yesterday morning, John thought the economy was going great guns and the Bush administration was doing well, and today he thinks it's in crisis," Biden said on CBS' "The Early Show."

Biden said the Democratic presidential campaign's solutions for the economic crisis include giving middle-class taxpayers a substantial tax break, putting an end to Bush administration tax cuts that favor the wealthy, investing in infrastructure, and changing bankruptcy laws to help people facing foreclosure.

"My lord, take a look at what — who got us in this hole, whose policies," Biden said. "This has been a Republican philosophy of letting Wall Street do what they want and the middle class be damned. It's about time we change it. If I sound like I'm angry, I am fighting mad for middle-class people who have been the scapegoat of this economy because of the policies of the McCains and the Bushes."

14. Joe can let off steam more openly, Barack has to tamp it down
or he'll be labeled "the angry black man." :scared: Heaven forbid.

But then, you probably already know that. ;-)

17. Personally, I could use some more "angry black man."
but his cool and smiling demeanor is part of his charisma.

20. Amen sister.
We've got a winner.

The only thing they can use to defeat him is fear, ignorance, and hate...and I'm all tapped out of fear, feel like doing some educating, and in a friendly mood! (A rarity for me I am sure...)

16. I saw him yesterday
and I just love him. He's so warm and connected with the people really well. I loved what he had to say and I'd be proud to call him my president, certainly vice president.

And that smile! Just melts my heart. He's a really good-looking man. If he flashes that smile a lot during the debate with Caribou Barbie, I think he'll get a lot of the female vote. I don't think he needs to treat her with kid gloves, but he needs to be charming -- almost kill her with kindness. The one-two punch will come from his answers to the questions -- honest, straightforward and intelligent. And then add that smile and he'll win people over.

:loveya: Joe!

27. You'd have to fight me for the chance
I think he's hotter than the Big Dawg.

I was right near the front yesterday and when he came around after his speech, I spoke to him for a second and then he kept holding onto my hand as he spoke to other people standing around me. Someone took a picture with my camera, but it didn't come out very well. Both of our heads were cut off -- it wasn't a posed picture.

Well, after he passed by, I went over to the other side where my friend (Nancy Skinner, who ran for Congress here two years ago and ran against Barack in the Illinois Senate primary in 2004) was standing. When Joe came around there, he heard me telling someone the photo didn't come out very well, and he said "Well, let's take another one then." Then we posed for one. That one didn't come out great either, but it was better. At least you could see both of our faces. You could tell he was really enjoying talking to everyone and that he really cares about people.

61. I said this in a thread on the JBSG, how genuine Joe seems.
When he is talking to someone, he really listens to them. I was watching Romney during the primaries, & when he was talking to someone, he would look up & scan the rest of the people in line -- it gave the appearance that 1) he wasn't really listening to the person in front of him & 2) he was looking for someone 'more important' than the person in front of him.

Joe's the real deal. You should post your photo! We would love to see it!
