This is not offered as something to freak over, or offered for the accuracy of the poll or whatever.

It's just funny. (In that sardonic 'just shoot me' kind of way.) Hmmm... a supremely qualified statesman versus a fanatical rube. That's a tough one.

Joe Biden is being treated like the Rodney Dangerfield of election 2008. Oh him... he's just brilliant and good and funny and eminently prepared for the office. Zzzzzzzz.
Palin 47%, Biden 44% in Make-believe Presidential Match-up

Sarah Palin bests Joseph Biden 47% to 44% in a hypothetical head-to-head match-up for the presidency, according to a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey (see crosstabs).

Just over half of voters view both of the vice presidential candidates at least somewhat favorably, although 35% rate their opinion of Palin as Very Favorable while only 23% feel that way about Biden. Twenty-eight percent (28%) have a very unfavorable opinion of the woman governor of Alaska versus 20% who say that about the longtime Delaware senator.

Women continue to be more skeptical than men of the Republican vice presidential nominee, only the second woman to be on a national political ticket. While men split 50% to 37% in Palin’s favor, women support Biden 50% to 44%.

When Palin is pitted against Barack Obama, the Democratic presidential nominee wins 50% to 43%.

1. I don't think people understand what an amazing mind Biden has.
And how prescient he has been on the issues from security to economy.

3. If dems are forced to talk about Palin they should only call her "too extreme" and "out-of-touch"

5. What they really need to do...
...is pit Palin against McCain. And show the results for Republicans only.

6. If the media would cover Biden the way they cover Palin, then people
might be able to make a more informed choice. Biden has a slightly different stump speech virtually every time, and Palin just repeats the same lies. But we keep seeing the same Palin clips and never see anything Joe has to say.

With that in mind, I'm happy to see only a 3 point difference.

7. People don't know enough about Biden.
The stats for women are really cool. See, women know other women and Palin isn't fooling us, except for the fundies.

Palin - wonderful
Biden - bad boy

Face it folks, Biden has been getting shit on in the media.

Hopefully now that he is getting more attention, people will wake up.

10. He was wonderful on CNBC this morning
People say he talks to much, missing the fact that he is actually saying something.

It was one of the most informationally dense presentations I've ever seen on TV.

13. That's what his followers have always said about him. yeah -
he may talk alot, but he as alot to say.

The msm has been hitting him lately on taking a 20 minute intro when he held Petreaus Hearings in 2007.
I watched that. I never once thought he was taking too long. He was presenting facts and info he had from his contacts on the ground and had alot to say, along with alot of questions.

Maybe if the talking heads would stop timing him, and start listening to him, they would figure this out.

15. Yep. My biggest complaint about him during the Dem primaries
was that he seemed incapable of keeping his remarks within the allotted time frame, talking on and on and on.

But OTOH, he actually has something to SAY as he talked on and on and on.

I'd like to see him in a less structured style debate where he could really dig deep and not get cut short. He'd be devastating.

11. I honestly think that if I were looking at this question objectively, and
thought about all our country has to deal with domestically, economically, globally, I would realize that Biden would be the clear choice.

These people aren't THINKING about what this would actually mean.
