Note to self: Never piss off CNN... |
|
I don't know how many of you have been watching CNN this afternoon, but they have been REAMING both McCain and Palin all day. I swear, the guy that was defending Sarah Palin about refusing to cooperate in the troopergate investigation actually had flop sweat on his forehead. The announcer kept saying, "Do you have proof that the Obama campaign has been orchestrating the troopergate investigation?" and the guy would say, "bullshit bullshit bullshit" and the announcer would say ONCE AGAIN, only more patiently, "DO YOU HAVE PROOF....blah blah blah..." And before that they were picking McCain's ads apart.
In contrast, I have to say that MSNBC is being a little nicer to the GOP. Norah O'Donnell felt obliged to make the point that Obama would raise taxes for corporations after the guest said that Obama would decrease taxes for 95% of Americans.

1. Good! Keep pissing them off, McCain! And be EXTRA nice, Obama -- |
|
That's one of the good things about Biden - he never says no to an invitation to be interviewed. :7

8. I was watching that too, but the one thing Rick Sanchez completely left out was |
|
the fact that the "impartial" personnel board that Palin et al feel is the best source for deciding the fate of this case was hand selected by none other than PALIN during her term as Gvnr. If he had been able to throw that at the McLiar/Moose spokesperson, he would've been sweating even more than he was.
They are doing everything and anything to derail this investigation, but the truth coming from the media digging in AK is disproving all of their claims, especially those involving a tie between Obama campaign and the legislative board running the current investigation.
And while all of this is going on, McLiar and the Moose continue to claim that they are reformers and that they advocate transparency. Uhhhh, bullshit!!

|
I think the unavailability of Palin is really pissing them off. Apparently the McCain folks didn't learn their lesson from the Nixon administration.

14. But the "Rose Garden" strategy only works |
|
(if at all) once you're in the freaking office. When you are a newcomer to the scene, you cannot stiff the media. That is basic politics. You need the media. You need them bad. Piss them off, and you might as well pack it in.
Once you're in, you can get all arrogant -- maybe.

4. No, she said raise the Capital Gains tax... |
|
And Sherrod Brown, my pal and my Senator, blew the answer.
Obama is talking abuot increasing the rate on Capital Gains but only after you make $250,000 adjusted Gross Income.
Sherrod was wrong, or rather ill prepared.
Norah was right.
Hate to say it.

6. No, this was a little later. She did refer back to the Brown interview, but |
|
she literally said when the guy she was interviewing was comparing Obama and McCain's economic plans and said something about one of Obama's cornerstones was reducing taxes for 95% of Americans, "I feel obliged to mention that he would raise corporate taxes and capital gains taxes." She did refer back to Brown and said something about 'getting into it' with him about which taxes Obama would raise.

9. The MSM is lying about the impact of Obamas cap gains tax |
|
First off, capital gains taxes are only paid if theres a profit, and in the current GOP deregulated stock market that doesnt happen often enough.
Next(and this is the big lie), most middle class people are invested in stocks through a 401k plan, and theres no capital gains taxes on 401k profits.

It's frustrating the number of people who repeat that capital gains line, even people who should know what taxes they're going to pay because they've actually got money in a 401k.

11. Brown was wrong, Norah was wrong. You are roght |
|
Norah indicated all capital gains would be taxed.
A lot of Obama's spokespeople don't have the facts and Go knows the show's hosts don't. Some people who speak best for Obama are ex-Hillary supporters. Debbie Wassermann Schulz does a good job. She started speaking out for him as soon as primaries ended and it impressed me because she really liked Hillary but she didn't miss a beat. James Carville seems to know Obama's positions/history well and has been very strong for him lately. I wonder if that is because he did opposition research

|
Do they think we're that stupid? This has been brewing for a while, and no one would ever believe that McNasty would be that stupid as to pick her. Considering it was a bipartisan group calling for the investigation.. i just don't see it.

by maneuvering himself as the victim of attacks from the "librul media" I think it will work well among the base, who he's won over anyway, but I'm skeptical of it working on independents.
