Did some voter registration today!
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 03:04 PM by BklynChick
It was in NYC and NY is such a safe state, but it felt good anyway. We're going to Pennsylvania next weekend so it was a good trial run, sort of. Some of the women (it was 24 women and 1 man registering) had already been to Pennsylvania and told me some scary stories, but I'm going anyway.

I was on a block with a guy giving out bibles. We got to talking. He was pressing me about why I was voting for "that guy." I gave him my reasons. Then he said, "after what he did to Hillary? beating her?" I told him, well this is a democracy and he won. He said he thought women didn't like Obama and I told him there was nothing further from the truth. I pointed out my 24 woman comrades.

I'm all about being positive and optimistic these days. Hope springs eternal.

2. Good for you!
That is such a good thing to do, and so damn satisfying!

The best kind of registering, IMHO anyway, is when you have someone changing from Republican to Democratic!

It's interesting to hear what they have to say, why they're doing it, and like that!

We're changing the world...one vote at a time!

:yourock:
