How long have McFraud and The Lyin' Queen been using "Only in America" at the end of their stump |
|
speech? They just used it as the first song at the close of the Ohio event.
I know bush used it at campaign events in 04, but this is the first I've seen McFraud use it. Obama uses it a lot, and particularly with it being the first song played at the close of his convention speech, the song has become identified with him (and he is a black kid from New York City that could become president!).
It seems to me that McFraud's campaign realize the strong patriotic impact this song has and are hoping by hijacking it Obama will stop using it.
I actually liked hearing it. After listening to Senator John McSourpuss, an uplifting reminder of the Obama campaign is very much welcome.
McJealous can't seem to stop copying Obama. Don't be surprised to see him shooting some hoops soon.

1. When McCain gets the black shoe polish out |

and goes all Al Jolson... that will be the sign that the Large Hadron Collider actually worked and we all just entered an alternate universe via the Black Hole it created.

2. I don't know, but I think a lot of people overseas rolled their eyes |
|
and said "Only in America!" when they heard that Mooseburger Barbie was a serious candidate for VP, so it's sort of appropriate.

5. Barack lived in NYC for a couple of years while attending Columbia. |
|
Near the beginning of "Dreams From My Father," he speaks of his time renting an apartment in Manhattan on E 94th street and 2nd avenue ( a few blocks from where my friend lives!).

6. Thanks. I almost thought that's what you meant; but that |

hardly makes him a "black kid from New York." "A Columbia student residing in New York temporarily" is more like it. Hawaii definitely gets the honor, although I'd be happy to claim him for my native Illinois, as in in "Abe Lincoln from Illinois." Sadly I'll have to admit though Ronald Reagan is the Prairie State's only president, since not even U.S. Grant, who had a home in Galena, was a native.

4. They probably figured they'd be safe from getting a smackdown from the artist |
|
Maybe they decided they couldn't afford the negative publicity from Van Halen and Heart and soon-to-be Tom Petty telling them to stuff it.
