On Hardball.

Paul Begala: "The more Carly Fiorina speaks for McCain the better it is for Obama because she's an Idiot."

Best laugh I've had today. (I guess that's the value of Begala not being a formal surrogate.)

That '92 Bill Clinton team is nothing if not colorful.

(Discussion of her saying McCain couldn't run a major company. Begala went on to describe her as an epic incompetent at HP.)

3. She was a spectacular flop at HP, as witnessed by the relative pittance she got as severance.
21 million? Please.

8. My cousin was a VP at HP during the Fiorina era.
She was a disaster. I know it's hard for women in business, especially in the upper echelons, but she was completely incompetent.

25. One thing you can say good about Bush was
that he was able to find incompetents, no matter the race or gender: Condi Rice, Margaret Spellings, Alberto Gonzalez, Larry Elder, Harriet Miers, etc

They really do get the unqualified raising among their ranks.

5. haha
I turned it on and considered watching because I like Paul Begala, but I really can't stand that sniveling Tucker Carlson. Just when I'm thinking to myself "Oh, I've been enjoying Tucker's vacation from MSNBC", they plaster him on every single show as soon as he gets back, to make up for it.

15. He gets to appear elsewhere when promoting a book
I read that his contract gives him like a 2 week window to appear on other channels when he has a book to promote.

19. Well, that stinks
I really like Begala. It would be great if MSNBC could snag him. Some people may say he's too negative, but he can get away with it, just because of the style he uses. He was great on Real Time with Bill Maher last week, too.

Well, darn. I was hoping when I saw him on MSNBC, that it meant he was switching sides :(

24. It is widely known that Fiorina's controversial merger "feat" of HP and Compaq
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 05:11 PM by SurferBoy
ended up costing about 100,000 workers their jobs.

Add to that the 26,000+ layoffs just announced, as the repercussions from that are still being felt at the new megacompany.

The results from that merger that Carly Fiorina championed as the CEO of HP?

1.) layoffs

2.) huge write-offs of debt

3.) declining stock value for several years

4.) poorer service

26. People in HP Hated Her
I have a friend who worked for HP when she was there. She felt she was a rock star. If she came to visit a customer in your HP office, people got a multi-page document on how to treat her. Things like, don't speak to her unless she addresses you, what kinds of refreshments to have there, etc. Also, when the company was doing poorly, she bought a couple of business jets so she could ride in style. Her husband was paid multi-millions of dollars as her security person. She had very little understanding of the business and was not a visionary nor a forward thinker.

And yes, she was fired. Did you notice that since she was fired, she has not gotten any new job except as mouth piece for McSame?

:puke: :puke:
