Why Has John McCain and the Men Around Him Hidden Away & Muzzled Sarah Palin?
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 05:26 PM by David Zephyr
Want to see sexism at it grandest scale? Just observe how John McCain and the men around him "handle" Sarah Palin, how they publicly muzzle her, how they script her every word and cloister her from the public. This is the most hidden-away woman in modern America.

Sarah, you are no symbol of a modern woman at all. You are no role model for my daughter or grand daughter.

Sarah Palin is the Republican male's ideal woman: one to be seen, but never truly heard speaking freely on her own without a script, without a man standing right behind her in oversight.

Sarah Palin's brief stint as Mayor and her thin eighteen months as Governor were always shadowed by her husband's sinsiter, overbearing presence, a man who made it clear to state officials that he would be sitting in his wife's meetings, a man, who we all now know, monitored her e-mails on government business. And not just monitored her e-mails, but was copied her e-mails as a regular, on-going practice.

Sarah Palin can not even campaign on her own without John McCain at her side. Always under John's ever present thumb.

When Sarah Palin travels, she is hidden away from reporters, locked in the front of airplanes. Cloistered.

Sarah Palin makes no bones about it: she supports any man's "right" to procreate through rape and she wants that "right" written into statutory federal law and enforced.

Rape? The man's right to have the child supersedes any claim to a right of an American girl or woman over their own reproductive organs.

Incest? An evil and perverse father or uncle has the "right" to make sure that his daughter or his niece carry to term his child. That's Sarah Palin's view of the world.

Be not deceived. Sarah Palin is no modern woman.

Be not confused. Sarah Palin is the veil to American women. Sarah Palin is the burqua to all of what American women have struggled and died for from the inception of this country.

Sarah Palin makes mockery of independent women and apparently can't even be trusted by the men around her to speak freely, unscripted to the media, or to a bi-partisan state investigation, or to even campaign on out her own.

No wonder Republican men are cheering for her. She is their ideal.

Sarah Palin is the burqua to modern American women.

3. As common practice. One of many links:
"The stories started last year when Representative Ralph Samuels told me about going into a meeting, he thought would be private, with Governor Sarah Palin. Much to his surprise, Todd Palin was there and proceeded to sit through the entire meeting.

"Other lawmakers have shared similar stories and were shocked at how inappropriate Todd's presence was at meetings with the governor. Yesterday on the Dan Fagan Show, Representative Jay Ramras mentioned that Todd was working lawmakers offices during the ACES debate."

7. You read my mind!
I was thinking it was time for a "Free Sarah Palin!" movement, kinda like what happened with Katie Holmes. It's like Palin's been kidnapped by these fruitcakes.

16. I've never seen anything remotely like this: hiding a candidate for vice-president from the public
It is remarkable that so few are even mentioning this. It should be headlines.
