Hillary and Palin to both be at protest against Ahmadinejad in NY
Sorry, I don't mean to insult Hillary, but this is bullshit.

From NBC's Chuck Todd
Both Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin will participate in a protest on Monday of the presence of Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadienjad, NBC News has learned.

The two politicians will not appear together at the protest but will both participate, according to those close to the organizing of this protest. The event is being organized by a coalition of groups (mostly Jewish) upset by the presence of Ahmadienjad in New York at the opening of the U.N. General Assembly and the threat Iran presents to "global security."

The protest will take place across the street from the U.N.

35. She knows who he is.
She mentioned him by name in her interview with Gibson. Mispronounced his name, but nearly everyone does...

Of course, the odds are slim to none that she has any idea of the complexity of the position of President in Iran, in contrast with the position here in the US (let alone in contrast with the Unitary Executive interpretation of President here in the US, a term that we can feel secure would confuse her completely).

And this guy is not in control of the military, so even if Iran ever DID get nukes, HE can't order their use!

41. The presidency of Iran is a figurehead position
meant to put the pretense of democracy on a theocratic regime. About the only real power Ahmadinejad has is shooting off his mouth.

38. Sounds like Hillary's still positioning herself for the right wing of the Democratic Party.
Guess she really did mean the saber rattling that her vote to place an arm of the Iranian military on the list of terrorist organizations. Good for her. Protest diplomacy!

5. Sarah and Ahmadienjad both believe a man has a right to procreate through rape or incest.
Sarah and Ahmadienjad have a lot in common.

They also don't like gay people very much either and believe that God has plans for wars and the world.

What is Sarah protesting? They have so much in common.

9. The only difference between them is their stand on sex before marriage:
Ahmadienjad = stoning

Palin = national ridicule followed by loveless shotgun marriage

Both are really a form of honor killing.

There are no gays in Iran, after all. He goes to NY to see them... and I think that's really what Palin, Hillary... and Jewish Groups (per the OP) are protesting.

"The gays are ours!! You can't have them Iran!!"

for members of Congress to protest. Ahmadinejad is simply a figurehead, and making him more important than he is, and mindlessly upping the ante is simply stupid.

44. Hillary is in complete agreement with Lieberman on this point.
I hope she will author a bill in the Senate to establish a secondary HQ for the UN, so all the diplomats from around the world can all be forced to travel rather than the US having to bear the hassle of letting leaders of countries we're trying to crush cross our borders.
I think maybe somewhere in the Netherlands, or some other country that's actually tolerant of countries that won't recognize that the oil under their soil is ours...

Clinton blindsided by scheduled event with Palin

AP foreign, Wednesday September 17 2008

By DEVLIN BARRETT

Associated Press Writer

WASHINGTON (AP) - Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton has canceled an appearance at a New York rally next week after organizers blindsided her by inviting Republican vice presidential candidate and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, aides to the senator said Tuesday.

Several American Jewish groups plan a major rally outside the United Nations on Sept. 22 to protest against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Organizers said Tuesday that both Clinton, who nearly won the Democratic nomination for president, and Palin, Republican candidate John McCain's running mate, are expected to attend.

That would have set up a closely scrutinized and potentially explosive pairing in the midst of a presidential campaign, one in which the New York senator is campaigning for Democratic nominee Barack Obama while Palin actively courts disappointed Clinton supporters.
