Take A Chunk Outta McSame's Campaign Budget - Reply To His Mailings!
Edited on Tue Sep-16-08 06:07 PM by stopbush
Someone suggested I post this from another thread:

Are you getting USPS snail mail solicitations from the McCain campaign asking you for money? If so, ignore your first impulse to tear the thing up and throw it in the trash, because there's a much better solution:

ALWAYS return these mailings in the business reply envelope (BRE) they provide (you know, the "No postage necessary"/"Postage Paid" return envelope)!

It costs them $.

I've done a lot of direct mail campaigns. Most budget for a 2-3% response rate. They only pay postage on the BREs that are returned to them.

If every D who got a solicitation from McCain mailed it back, it would cost them a lot more in return postage than they budgeted. Imagine if they got 50% of the envelopes back, and most of them didn't contain a donation, but cost them money in business reply postage!

ALSO - always remember to weigh down the envelope if possible. Toss in a few pieces of scrap metal sitting around your garage (old, small wrenches like the kind that come with build-it-yourself furniture kits) to push the weight as high as possible. More weight=more postage!

FINALLY - remember to remove your name and address from everything that you put in the envelope. No need identifying yourself, especially as you've also inserted a "FUCK YOU" note in the BRE! And drop the thing in a roadside mail box, rather than putting it in your outgoing mail.

4. I've been doing that for years!!! Another way to screw them is to NOT hang up
when you get one of their recorded campaign calls. Keep the line open as long as you possibly can because the longer you keep it open, the less calls they can make. If you hang up, it just automatically calls the next number, so keep it open as long as you can before it calls the next number.
