She is a religious zealot (think Talaban without the Burka), and she, and many others inside and outside the gov't adhere to a Christian Reconstructionist (also known as Dominionism). They want to bring the Constitution into line with the Bible (with the Bible taking precedence). Their's is a literal, Old Testament interpretation of the Bible, especially as it pertains to the Rule of Law. They ascribe to the Rule of God, as outlined in Leviticus-don't read it tonight-you won't be able to sleep-scary stuff! The end game for them is to bring about the Rapture/Armageddon in order to facilitate Christ's second coming. There are many organizations associated with these groups, some masquerading as secular companies, pushing this agenda, teaching things like "Character". They hold seminars, programs, etc, without ever mentioning religion as such. People and organizations, such as private prisons, police departments, the military, and others pay to attend these seminars. It is a very pervasive movement (religious black ops), and is very well funded. Do not underestimate these people. They are very dangerous,imo, and a force to be reckoned with. The reason Palin was brought into this campaign was to energize the fundie base, and some of her supporters are already praying imprecatory prayers that John McCain will be saved, then exit stage left to that big White House in the sky, so that Sarah can become President, sooner rather than later. I'd be willing to bet that if some of her admirers get their way, he won't finish out his first term if he leaves her on the ticket. There are a lot of people out there who think that God is directing them to do His Will, so who knows when they'll stop praying and start helping?
