That could easily sue the McCain campaign for plagiarism. It was literally an Alsaka woman who was a pta goin hockey mom who through a set of whacky incidents and circumstances becomes the vice president of the US.
It was later scrapped and never came to greenlight but it did evolve and split into two scripts she did do at the time,
From the IMDB
Protocol 1984 Sweet, unsophisticated Sunny is working as a cocktail waitress. She saves a visiting dignitary and as a reward she gets a top-office job in the Washington beehive. She has to fight against a devious protocol officer but with her charms, she saves the day when she gets involved in an arms deal with an Arab country.
Wildcats 1986 Molly is a highschool track coach who knows just as much about football as anyone else on the planet. When the football coach's position becomes vacant, she applies for the job, despite expecting sniggers from fellow staff and her former husband.
This was 10 years before Palin was running for anything.
Life imitates art that imitates nightmares of the life we might end up living if we end up losing.
