What McCain, the war hero, has done for the military and veterans... |
|
Voted against guaranteeing troops as much time home as they served while deployed Voted against body armor and equipment Refused to co-sponsor the new GI bill and even skipped out on the vote despite the strong bipartisan support from both sides Voted against health care for vets at least thirty times He's voted against hospitals, treatment and mental services. He's voted to gut, elimininate or cut funding other veterans' programs at least nine times. He voted against funding the VA, ensuring national guard members can retire with security and a cost of living adjustment for benefits. When he's not actively voting against cutting aid to vets, he's not even showing up for critical bills that would support them. An example would be his failure to vote for an increase in benefits for orphans and widows of veterans.
Credit goes to Paul Begala and his book 'Third Term'. I highly recommend this book.
This would be a kick ass political ad.

One of my neighbors is a 93 year old vet -- he's a Dem but his wife told me he is going to vote for McCain because of McCain's military background. I think I'll make a little flier with this info and get it over there later this week. Maybe it'll make him think twice about voting for McCain.
