You know when a toddler discovers something new in the world? It's kind of cute. And that's how it is with the MSM as well. Obama took control of this race on Monday and yet the MSM is only just now beginning to discover:

1-That the dynamics of this race have changed radically in the last 4 days.

2-That the poll numbers in key battleground states like VA and Ohio don't show Obama is weak, they show he is strong and getting stronger.

3-That the Palin effect is starting to wear off, and that she's no longer at center stage.

4-That McCain's convention bounce is, as the late 70s rock group Kansas opined, just dust in the wind.

As I see it, folks like David Gregory with their silly little week old polls about what white women think of Obama, are like little toddlers just discovering what this crazy world of politics is all about.

About certain things. In the 2Am Sept 15th meltdown of the Global Economy, one of the talking heads on CNBC said, "And we will have John McCain on later this week to offer his views on the economy."

And this was delivered with a warm smile, and this knowing look, as though all six billion people affected by the economic tsunami whipping through Asia and Europe on the beginning of a NEW BLACK Monday, that all of that would be returned to normal ONCE JOHN MCCAIN showed up.

All I know is I haven't left my TV set since. I forget which time the talking head said McCain would be showing up, and I am sure everyone here knows the sort of pain level I'd register if he came on at a moment in time when I wasn't there to watch him save us.

Yeah, right.

3. McCain might yet win Ohio and Virginia, but....
To me it looks like his support all around is about as good as it's going to get. He peaked on that about a week ago, if not even before that. Ohio and Virginia look to be states that Obama can class the gap on a little bit over the next week and pull ahead in after the debates. Maybe even Florida too. But the keys I think are New Mexico and Colorado, because they give Obama a path to the presidency even without Florida, Ohio and Virginia.

Obama has Iowa well under control. He's taken McCain's best shot at NM, and I think he can put that away after the first debate. Colorado will be a fight, but I think Obama can get it with the Hispanic support. I just think it looks good, Obama is in solid position all around.
