McCain may take Palin to the United Nations...
I just saw that as a headline on Yahoo.

So now every country's flag that she sees she will get to count as foreign policy experience. She gets genuine expertise if she shakes some random ambassador's staffer's hand.

Oh the jokes do write themselves don't they?

2. Its like his campaign is a spin-off of The Apprentice
This week's challenge is to pretend to understand diplomacy at the UN. If she is able to fool enough people, he'll take her to play golf at his country club and then a ride on his jet to one of his 9 houses.

3. Irans President
I think this is timed for Ahmadenijads visit to the UN to speak. She will meet a lot of dignitaries.

Just when I think I couldn't be more embarrassed by our leaders, the GOP parade out another incurious dumb-ass. :(

I was ten at the time. And probably gained more from the visit than Palin will.

14. I've gone on a field trip to the UN. Does that mean that I have foreign policy experience now?
Hell, I've even gone to the Japanese embassy to borrow textbooks from their library for a school project (benefit of growing up in NYC), does that mean I have experience in dealing with foreign governments now? That makes me much more qualified and much more amazing since I have far more experience than she does despite my being half her age. Hey, Republicans! I'm younger and perkier than she is, make me your VP nominee! :puke:

This is just complete fucking BS because if you try to judge ANYONE by the dismally low standards Palin has been judged by, ANYONE is qualified to be Vice President (and it is implied, President).

18. LOL, this is why the Democrats are vilifed as "elitists" by the GOP
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 02:20 AM by eshfemme
because the standards of competence have been consistently lowered in a race to the bottom that screws us all over. And in the chase for excellence, somehow that makes the Democrats and other like-minded Americans un-American, unpatriotic and elitists.

It's just so weird to see the disconnect between the BS that the GOP pulls and how ordinary people don't realize that if that's true, anyone can do what the GOP does. That makes them worthless. We should be treasuring intelligence and competence because common sense isn't that fucking common.

BTW, it is funny though that I and any number of DUers have more foreign policy experience than Palin does though.
