First, I really don't believe he'll lose this election. If he does, however, he should be majority leader in the Senate. I don't know how the majority leader is chosen but Obama would be a great leader. I believe, even if we lose the white house, we'll win the Senate. Even with kicking Lie-berman out.

1. Not good enough.
We must get the White House as well as Congress. Everyone is going to have to work together to straighten out this HUGE MESS created by Bushco and the GOP. Fighting with a regressive, out of touch, lying, bigoted, hypocritical pResident (again) will prevent making the changes we desperately need.

Barack must go to the White House.

14. and yet the party is full of exceptions in its past
Grover Cleveland was nominated again after he lost.
William Jenning Bryan was a three time loser
Adlai Stevenson was nominated twice and lost

They used to be called "happy warriors" and now if you lose an election your just a pariah.

19. I think it depends on the circumstances
If you're runnning against a weak opponent that most Dems think you *should have* beaten, then I believe they will react very negatively toward you when you lose. I think that's why Kerry is viewed pretty negatively. If the election is fair and legitimate, I have no doubt that Barrack Obama will win. We have so many new registered voters. But I also expect the election to be stolen. You don't steal two consecutive elections and then change your mind on the third one. The real judgment of Senator Obama's character and values will be in how he responds. He has the opportunity to make a very positive change in the direction of our country if he responds productivy to vote-counting fraud. He also has the opportunity to set the country back farther in the wrong direction like Sen Kerry did if he does nothing in response to a stolen election. I think we all hope the latter doesn't happen.

11. The one exception is if the election is stolen AND
he fights hard to expose the theft. Then I have no idea what will happen but it's better than just sitting back and letting them steal it every time.

9. We do tend to develop collective amnesia
towards our fallen standard-bearers. I heard that last year Ted Kennedy had to hustle to find seats on the dais for Michael and Kitty Dukakis at a Democratic fundraiser for Massachusetts Democrats! (Covering over the fact no one had thought to include them.)

Personally, I've always thought that McCain's highest ambition was Senate Majority Leader. I don't think now and never thought that McCain truly wanted to be President.

10. Let's not speculate about losing, ok?
I know it's a possibility.

But let's stay positive, ok?

12. He would run for Governor in 2010
I think he'll win the presidency. However, if not, I think he would run for governor of Illinois in 2010. That would allow him to possibly run again for president in 2016 at the relatively young age of 56. Just a hunch. Hopefully we won't have to think about it after Nov.4th.

Beg mom to fix you a sandwich. Repeat. Day after day after day of your life...
