Why "Morning Joe" is two-dimensional and doesn't get the point of the 2-minute ad |
|
Yesterday, Obama hit McCain hard on his "fundamentals" gaffe. That ad is still out there and will play.
Meanwhile, every Obama surrogate on the morning shows today made a point of McCain being on the Commerce Committee for the last several years and re-emphasized McCain's "fundamentals" gaffe.
In parallel, we had Obama's stunning economic speech yesterday and his detailed 2-minute ad today.
Later today, or early tomorrow, another 30-second attack ad on McCain and the economy will be out.
What the 2-minute ad accomplishes, is that it gets Obama's plan on the record while he goes on the attack. So now the attack becomes two-pronged: 1. McCain is the wrong man to fix the economy and 2. Here's how I'm going to fix it.
Attacking your opponent is only one half of the equation.... it's the only half Scarborough understands because it is the type of politics he grew up on and it is why he never would've gone beyond congressman.
The other half is getting your solution out there.
It doesn't even matter, politically, if many people see Obama's 2-minute ad. It subliminally (or not so subliminally) gets the message out there to voters that Obama has a plan...he takes this seriously.
Scarborough is a checkers player.... and he has no concept of chess.

6. He's an operative and an abuser |
|
Cleary Scar is one of Rove's brownshirts who has no real intellect. His analysis is all over the place depending on what offensive game the repigs are playing. He's also an abuser. Take a look at Mika, she's morphed into a cowed and nervous weakling. In the show's first few months she was somewhat strong and had some convictions and fairly rational opinions. Now she just there to calm him down if she goes to far.
Stop watching these 2, they don't deserve the ratings.

I have thought for a very long time that he is so stupid. He says nothing intelligent. I keep wondering how he keeps that job. I just roll my eyes when he talks. Yet, he sees himself as having these great insights. A lot like Buchanan, hasn't a clue and is completely out of touch. Is this the best MSNBC can do in the morning. Compare him with Maddow. She could chew him up and spit him out in a heartbeat.

Re: Obama "Where's his passion?" "He's like Adlai Stevenson."
Heard it on Scarborough and Matthews shows. Coincidence?
One pundit on Scarborough said that Obama needed to have better "sound bites" instead of more speeches and ads. Excuse me? Who decides what portion of a speech is a "sound bite"? Oh, that's right . . . we, the media whores, do.

Tell viewerservices@msnbc.com. I'll bet Dan Abrams would be happy to take over the morning show.
