I filled out the Obama survey last night, and put this in the "other" box... |
|
At the end of the check-box menu style survey Obama sent out to supporters, there was a text field asking what other important issues you'd like to see an Obama administration take on. I wrote "I want the criminals in the WH held accountable for what they've done to the country."
Of course, it won't matter. In true Republican fashion, everyone gets a golden parachute no matter how badly they fuck things up.

1. I personally believe that they will be held accountable. |

It's just that the Democrats can't publicly acknowledge this. There's been signs though that they will probably pursue charges. Biden himself said that he and Obama would be investigating possible criminal activity under the Bush administration and the Congress has been making extra measures to ensure that things are recorded for a future investigation so that when an Obama Presidency takes over, any attempts at paper shredding can be overcome by the archives the Democrats will have already amassed. It's just that they won't make it a total witch hunt as they will prioritize the act of GOVERNANCE over partisan bickering.
But I do believe that this will be undertaken. It's just that they're being very careful to avoid setting off alarm bells-- I can understand this because busting down doors and taking names might feel good at the moment but you wouldn't feel like such a fucking hot shot if they got clean away, right? It might not be as action-packed and glamorous but quietly taking people down after laying down the necessary groundwork is a surer thing. It's kinda like the police stings-- months of preparation work can be needed just for one raid. So that's how I think of it. We're in the preparation phase.
