First thoughts: Has the worm turned? (Chuck Todd, et al on Palin's decline in polls, buzz)
Has the worm turned? After the news of the crisis on Wall Street, McCain’s “the fundamentals of our economy are strong” stumble on Monday, the slip-ups yesterday by McCain’s two biggest economic surrogates (see below for more on that), and four days of sustained TV ad and email blasts by the Obama campaign and the DNC, the political worm seems to have turned a tad since the Palin bounce. Indeed, while we’re not crazy about focusing too much on those daily tracking polls, their needles have moved in Obama’s direction the past couple of days (and we bet that continues today).

1. Well, looks like Chuckie T is actually reporting the real news now
Not just sucking up to the Rethugs. The worm HAS turned, its obvious. Palin is not dominating anymore. The spotlight is on McLame now and it does not look good.

2. Chuck Todd is such a joke now. He will never compare to Russert who had brains and love for politics
Chuck Todd only loves himself.

3. The plumage of Palin don't enter into it.
To paraphrase Monty Python.

She was a brief distraction for McCain, but she is rapidly becoming a non-issue. By election day, she'll be footnote to the campaign. And, hopefully, to history.

4. Let me get this straight. When McLiar got his convention bounce, all
we heard was how the polls showed it was basically over for Obama. That he couldn't really come back from this. That the polls showed he was losing virtually every group out there, etc.

Now that McLiar is falling fast, Chuckie T says we shouldn't pay any attention to the polls, because they're showing Obama is ahead? So he's admitting they don't want to give Obama any positive coverage? I'm not surprised they feel that way, but I am surprised they actually admit it.

But, McCain/Palin losing momentum would never be a "story" endlessly rotated on the air, unlike "Why isn't Obama AHEAD by MORE?? ", which has been on loop for numerous days when Obama was like, 6 points ahead.

7. The world's longest journey...
one step at a time. I'm hoping soon we'll be hearing nothing but "McCain is unable to stop the freefall..." stuff like that.
