Macaca Allen expects a whopping crowd of 1000 at his "minority unity rally"
And I do believe that he is being WAAAAAAAY optimistic on that number. Oh I hope there will be cameras....

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/09/16/AR2008091603151.html?hpid=topnews

Northern Virginia Republicans, realizing they need to improve their appeal among the region's large ethnic population, will stage a "unity" rally Saturday that they say will draw 1,000 people.

Organizers said the annual rally, which has grown in recent years, is particularly significant this year because ethnic minorities represent an increasingly powerful voting bloc that will help decide which presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama or Sen. John McCain, wins the state Nov. 4.

1. Again, Republicans believe people are stupid
As if this will bring any minorities to the Republican side. They really ought to give up.

NoVA is incredibly diverse and democratic (metropolitan DC area)

It gets more "red" the further outside the beltway you get

20. Yes
Northern Va. tends to be much more liberal, more "northern" than "southern". I'm from the middle western part of the state, but went to college at George Mason U., was stationed in the Tidewater area with the Navy, and there are marked regional differences. The area where I grew up trends red (except for my family, who's still there doing missionary work for the Dems-lol), Tidewater is somewhat mixed-large military population. As far as I can tell, it looks like the state may be trending purple. It's still a toss-up, but still winnable for the Dems.

11. Think about it

If he hadn't said that one word he would be Senator and Webb would be out.

He was the favorite to be the nominee and he may not have won but his entry into the race would certainly have narrowed it to a 3 way race with Romney Allen and McCain.

If he didn't get the nomination he almost certainly would have been the VP pick - Rep right to lifer Senator from PA - couldn't pass that up - there would have been no Palin.

All because of one word. lol

If it weren't for us driving the raging story/YouTube viral video relentlessly, the MSM would never have picked it up, much less run with it.

That should be an interesting race, to say the least.

14. He won't get 500, unless he kidnaps them.
As I've heard the Repubs have been doing at their rallies, not allowing people to leave until it's over.

25. Hah. Yeah, in the rally when Palin was picked.
A poster came and complained here about it. She was at the rally because they wouldn't allow people to leave once they were in. I think it was in a school gymnasium and everyone in the building was stuck.
