4. That would be an interesting new take on the McCain/Palin attempts to distance
themselves from the party.

More likely, Ensign is just an idiot. I'm beginning to think that there's some contest going on to see which Republican shill can say the dumbest thing in public. Between this and the Blackberry....

5. Libertarians
are typically pro-choice, not opposed to gay marriage or unions, and fairly socially liberal.

So no Mr. Ensign. They are not Libertarians.

9. Not only that, they are against gov't regulation/gov't intrusion and that doesn't
compute with McPalin's sudden embrace of "re-regulation" of the banking industry.

13. Someone Needs to Explain that to Ron Paul
Libertarians are typically pro-choice

Gotta wonder about a "libertarian" who wants to overturn Roe. v. Wade

Of course McAint and Palin want to do that too, but they never claimed
to be libertarians, and nobody who knows the meaning of the word
would apply it to them.

Because they don't like liberal interpretation of the Constitution.

30. Well, I was more or less talking about the Libertarian view.
Ron Paul is still mostly a Republican.

21. Paul's an exception
I think Barr might be pro choice as well.

Libertarians tend to believe in choice, but not federal funding.

to try to appeal to Nevada and western state voters who are supposedly have a Libertarian bent. They'll say anything, won't they?

10. Trying to get the independents
I know a lot of former Republicans (who were just plain embarrassed by Bush) who state they are Libertarians now, but register as independents. I imagine this was a popular trend...

11. Well at least we know Bob Barr will lambast them for trying to steal his voters &
and his platform of voting.

This whole thing is a way to gain back and undermine Bob Barr's miniscule power in the Rethuglican voting sphere.

Next they'll be saying they're Democrats; after all, they are acting like they aren't in the party that has been in the WH for the past 8 years.

However, they like Palin because she's a MILF. I think they're just joking about that last part.

18. OMFG... Any Libertarian should be spitting over that crap.
McBush/Palin are FASCIST NEO-CONS. They are about as far away from Libertarianism as they can get before they start heading back around the other side of the circle.
