The "October Surprise" contest
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 12:55 PM by Cyrano
Without a doubt, Karl Rove and Dick Cheney are putting the final touches on the "October Surprise" that will ensure victory for McCain/Palin.

So it's contest time. What will the "October Surprise" be? Will Alaska invade Russia? Will Sarah Palin reveal her Mensa membership? Will Bin Laden release a tape endorsing Barak? Who knows?

So let's hear what you think the "October Surprise" will be.

Oh, yeah. The prize for the winner will be hurrahs from 100,000+ DUers.

7. I have been noticing that ,...
the closer we get to the election there seems to be more conflicts, and Cheney seems to be doing something behind the scenes as he is traveling. I don't know specifically what it will be but it will have something to do with violence and war.

I have been watching cheney and some of the other players such as John Bolton and others you will begin to see a buildup on the news and more talking heads because they think that if they bring the issue back to war that McSame will get some sort of bounce.

25. No, but there were Diebold "November Surprises."
I really don't think McCain/Palin can win it. But there is no doubt in my mind that it can once again be stolen. And unless we can find some way to stop them, they'll do it again this year.

All of which will be untrue, but after the election most people won't notice or care that the terror threats or Obama revelations were false.

11. It will be announced that the current administration has foiled
a serious terrorist attack in this country.

Or

Barack Obama will be accused of doing something illegal a couple of days before the election, and this accusation will saturate the MSM until the end of election day.

And the what the MSM will do, right up until election day, is to continue to be silent about it.

28. Although my tone is light, I'm not joking.
As you said, "Anything goes." These swine will do whatever is necessary to win. What I'm really getting at here is, what will we do to stop them? Conversely, how far are we willing to go to win? And win we must. Or our country, as we know it, just might be finished.

23. McCain will drop out
Health reasons or worse. Palin will be so devastated, she'll drop out, too. The Romney Huckabee ticket will look so great after the senile old fart and the ice queen, that they'll coast to victory. Plus, they'll get the sympathy vote.

27. They're going to pull some white girlfriend out of Obama's past
They'll find some white girl he dated in college or something and pay her to claim that he fathered an illegitimate child, which of course will be completely false, but they'll use it as a way to get it out there that he once dated a white girl, an image they know may not sit well in parts of the country.

33. Israel will bomb Iran's nuclear power plant (with Russia techs inside).
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 04:25 PM by McCamy Taylor
Palin's son will be "kidpapped" by Iranians (actually he will be in the bunker with Dick Cheney) in retaliation. Fox News will start 24 hour/day coverage of Palin's bravery in the face of her "ordeal" (she will know that the "kidnapping" is bogus). Bush will send in troops to "liberate" the Palin boy a few days before the election in a scene straight out of Wag the Dog using a plan that John McCain is supposed to have thought up.

Because of the "hostage situation" all debates/campaigns/discussion of issues like the economy will be put on hold. If Obama supporters try to discuss anything except Iran and Palin's "ordeal" they will be condemned as unAmerican.

This is what I think Cheney would like to see as an October surprise. Whether the NSA, CIA and U.S. military will go along with it is another matter. If he tries something like this, I think there is a 66% chance that someone in the Pentagon will leak the story to Sy Hersch before it happens.

Oh, and it will turn out that the whole reason that Israeli Defense Forces helped Georgia get ready to attack its own civilians in order to provoke a war with Russia, was so that Bush/McCain could stir up anti-Russian sentiment in the U.S. so that when Israel bombed the Iranian nuclear power plant full of Russian technical advisers, people in the U.S. would not react with horror.
