Tweety: The Republicans including McCain are running a charade! |
|
Tweety is implying that the American people should yank the GOP out of power and made a metaphor about a pitcher that is throwing badly needs to be yanked by the manager. He said that it is a joke that McCain is reading a script in Michigan when the country's economy is collapsing!1 He said "What is this, first they are singing Bush's praises and now, who is this guy?"
Tweety on fire indicting the Republicans as cowards and irresponsible!! :wow:

4. He just made Eric Kantor poop his pants. |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 04:34 PM by Chipper Chat
Kantor would not answer Tweety's direct questions such as "Do you take responsibility for Bush's stewardship of the economy the last 8 years? Of course Kantor tried to change the subject and Tweety eviscerated him. Looks like Tweety has borrowed Keith's balls.

12. Hate to say it, but I think that Tim Russert's death may have |
|
unleashed the monster in the NBC family.
For all his reputation as a hard interviewer, Russert often pulled his punches. While he loved asking the initial "gotcha" question, he was notably weak on hard-hitting follow-ups.
Every other NBC journo sort of deferred to Russert's top-gun position...except for Keith, who charted his own course. Russert's panels were usually made up of the DC cocktail claque who all got along off camera and only played at being the loyal opposition on screen.
Now that Russert is gone, Matthews and others are free to do what they want without fear of Russert rolling his eyes at their "lack of respect for the journalistic old boy system."
After all, didn't Cheney say that the WH liked MTM because they felt they could roll Russert and get out their message?
Too harsh, or am I on to something?

13. Remember, though, Tweety was for Bush in 2000 and 2004 before he was against him. Iraq |
|
FINALLY turned him, but we were in Iraq in 2004, when Tweety proudly cast his second vote for Bush as President. (I say "proudly" bc he has mentioned that on televison.) And, he said on TV, "I am a lot more conservative than people think I am." So, rejoice with caution when Tweety speaks. IMO, at bottom, he says whatever he thinks will best serve his interests at the moment and Keith had the highest rated MSNBC show. And now, he is supposedly thinking about running for office as a Democrat, even though his brother runs as a con.

16. You're probably right about his support of Bush |
|
but Tweety was dead set against the Iraq war before the Iraq war ever started. He wrote some blistering articles against the neocons and the prospects of war in Iraq in the San Francisco Chronicle in the months leading up to the war. They make for some interesting reading.

18. Internet RUMORS - Find it and link to it. Chris never said any such thing |
|
Edited on Wed Sep-17-08 04:46 PM by democrat2thecore
I mean about voting for Bush twice. He did make the "conservative" comment, but it was in a context that renders what we think of as "conservative" meaningless.
He has been a lifelong Democrat. He ran as a Democrat for Congress as a young man (he's 62 now). He was Tip O'Neill's Chief Of Staff. He was a speechwriter for President Carter.
Chris is not, and never has been, a "conservative." Was he restrained by his duties over the years as an anchor of debates and election coverage? Yes. He no longer has those duties and is boldly walking into the world of broadcast opinion.
Read some of his books. He makes his politics clear as a bell.

|
Now they are really pissed. What do they have to lose? In addition, if Tweety is going to run for office,
this gives him some chips even if he does blow in the wind.

Matthews was great today. He was very tough on Cantor.I have said he Is tolerable to watch of the pre Keith and Rachel cwoad on MSNBC.While he did do what the MSM wanted with Bush he has been against the Iraq war.He Is more a less a Moderae Democrat despite admitting to voting for Bush. Working for Jimmy Carter and Tip O'Neil allows you to be a Dem.Plus he has at times said good things about Obama. And been a bit more crictil of Palin than some. While he admits to liking Mccain personally like today he has gone after them on their BS on the economy.
Finally there Is a lot of talk he may leave MSNBC In 2009 to launch a run for the senate In PA as a democrat In trying to beat Spector In 2010.
