"They're All Alike" That's What The Spain Gaffe Means |
|
As raw as you can get, but, oh yeah, I forgot, it's not about race.
Pay no attention to the fact that you can always play "Where's Waldo?" as far as non-whites in McCain's audiences.

1. Exactly what I thought. The undercurrent was "those people" and "the good ones". |
|
I talk to the ones that are "just like us".

10. There are swarthy Spaniards because many of them originally did come |
|
from Northern Africa, but as a Latina, I have spent a life time of trying to explain to white Americans that not all Latinos nor people with Spanish surnames or people who speak Spanish are from Mexico. Yes, we all speak a common language but we are very varied demographically.

7. I have a problem explaining that to people. |
|
"You know, Spain is in Europe," I try telling them every time they try to lump anyone with a Spanish surname into some sub category that really doesn't exist.

I think its actually worse. I'm thinking one or more of the following.
A) Didn't know/forgot B) CPU burning out C) Actually pissed at Spain for bailing on the "Coalition of the Willing" and willing to pick fights with even our allies.
In any event, this really needs to be pushed because it shows for the millionth time that McCain has ZERO business anywhere near The White House and probably needs to retire in general.
