--About Voting Day Attire--What To Wear----My Suggestion--
Since there are some states who don't/won't allow candidate attire at the polls, I had a thought while responding in another thread;

What we should do, is dress Obama logo colors..SAME shades, not just red, white and blue, but the EXACT colors of his logo. Light blue, soft red, and white....and get it so close, it would be subliminal. :-)

Light blue pants/shorts/skirts, and a soft red and white shirt...any pattern...maybe navy shoes.

;-)

Just a thought. Pass it on, and do it if you agree!!

1. If a button or shirt at a polling place is going to change someone's mind...
...we might as well turn off the lights, the grand experiment is over.

3. I don't think the point is really to change anyone's mind.
More like just the feeling of solidarity... like the black hoodies last time (courtesy of the Eminem video). Nah, in fact, I'm STILL sportin' my hoodie, with the Obama Superman tee underneath, and I take the hoodie off after I exit. :) Yeah, I'm a nerd like that.

22. There was a recent case that stops this!
it was brought by the ACLU. As long as you are not actively campaigning, you can wear whatever you like. I will look for a link.

I've been trying to decide whether to test it by wearing an Obama t-shirt. If they say anything I'll just rip it off right there in the voting place (but will have a modest sports bra on underneath, maybe with an Obama button on it).

OBAMA BLUE DAY!!!
September 30, 2008

Its time to REPRESENT!!!!!
This election season has remained too close for comfort and to close to call! We have 100,000s
of unregistered and millions who remain on the fence! Its time for us to come together, voice our unity, and make a difference!

Tuesday September 30, 20008
everyone is asked
to do two things

1) WEAR BLUE

2) REGISTER TWO VOTERS!
(If you can't register two voters talk to two people who may be on the fence/ or a McCain supporter
and sway them to become a Obama Supporter).

LETS MAKE OBAMA BLUE DAY a DAY OF ACTION!!!!
BARACK THE VOTE!!!!!!
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO EVERYBODY
WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING!!!
THE VOTE!!!!!!
PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO EVERYBODY WHO MAY BE INTERESTED IN PARTICIPATING!!!

If it were just one solid color, people wouldn't have to go through too much drama trying to find several pieces of clothing. Just one blue shirt which I'm sure we all could find anywhere.

6. you could always adopt the "Billionaires for Bush" approach
Rent a limo, get a couple friends to stand around in tuxedos and evening gowns and yachting gear, and stand around the parking lot with your "Billionaires for McCain" signs

"Thanks for the bailout Georgie! See you at the club!"

9. I was thinking something similar
the thought was to have supporters vote then line the street to the polling place. No signs, just a show of force.

They were told to leave and re-enter with the buttons removed or they couldn't vote.

I never understood why Team Obama felt the need to change the colors. I hate it when sports teams do that, too.

23. That's an interesting idea.
I'm sure everyone knows you can't have any form of candidate stuff on.

Here's another great idea...I think.

If the lines are long and you are in a predominently democratic area take a bag of leftover Halloween candy with you and pass it out to people in line to keep their energy level up. Hard handy is especially good to ward off thirst.

If it's a republican line...pass out salted pretzels. Once everyone has eaten some start complaining of how thirsty you are. You know, the power of suggestion.

32. Someone ought to create a tie-dye design...
That matches the Obama logo. Blue, white (where the tie is) and stripes of red at the bottom - on a t-shirt.

34. See, I was gonna go a different route...
I was gonna go in covered with McCain gear - shirt, pants, buttons, cap, patches pins, buttons, sock, the whole nine yards - and looking excited, a bright smile on my face as I walk into the booth.

When I come out, I'll be visibly weeping, tearing off the McCain stuff and leaving it in a trail behind me, muttering, "I couldn't do it, I couldn't vote for that old fool..."

Would need a shower afterwards... I touched a McCain button once and felt dirty for the rest of the day, so i can only imagine what it's like to be all decked out in his paraphenalia.
