1. Good. Looks like the great gimmick has run its course.

3. McCain is not all there. This will stress hime to the breaking point
McCain is clearly not operating on all cylinders mentally. He shows all the signs of early-to-mid stage Alzheimer's. The entire campaign, he has rarely discussed facts or tangible ideas, and when he has tried to do that, we ended us with spectacular meltdowns like the Sunni/Shia thing. His campaign is trying to hide him behind simple sloganeering, instinctive tough guy talk, the POW immunity card, and Sarah Palin's skirt.

But that has run its course. Obama and Biden are pounding hard on real issues. And the fast moving events on Wall Street are causing the media to ask more pointed questions. McCain has three debates ahead. I don't see how he can get through these debates entirely on tough guy POW talk, especially considering that America is facing some real crises.

One think I know from personal observation with several Alzheimer's victims near me is that pressure makes the symptoms much worse. This could get very "uncomfortable" trying to hide the elephant in the room.
