Obama now getting Al Gored by the MSM
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 08:11 AM by dennis4868
The latest MSM made up controversies are:

1. Michell's cute comment - the media does not show the part where she says that she is talking about herself.

2. Biden's patriotic statement - the media has not had anyone on TV defending Biden.

Obama is now getting Al Gored and this can be deadly. It is worse than McCain lying about Obama. The MSM is not going to do a fact check of themselves.

How do we stop it before it brings doWn Obama? It hurt Al Gore very much and he could not stop it. The MSM were pretty much laughing at Gore at one point during the campaign watching him trying to deal with all the MSM lies.

McCain can stop lying now because the MSM is doing his work now. WTF?

1. We can complain, but I doubt it will do much good.
Our only REAL trump card is the faltering economy.

They have to save McCain, who is sinking. They have to keep it a horse race.

As far as Biden's comment. He needs to hit back hard on that

3. Oh please. Stop worring, you are always such a worry wort.
I am serious. You are getting on my nerves. You really need to realize that Obama leads in almost every national poll and that people are more concerned with the economic crisis right now than anything else. When Gore ran in 2000 the economy was still good so it was all about distractions. If the sky really is falling down than I will let you know. I remember that lots of chickne littles ran around last week about how Obama was done in for and I thought he would bounce back and he has.

8. I am sorry....
but after watching the MSM the past 2 days it is clear they feel bad for their guy McCain and the MSM has alot of power...they can completely turn an election around. Gore would have won if it were not for the MSM lying about him every day. It seems to me they started now with Obama and if it continues, I simply want to know what can be done?

4. Just keep the pressure up on the media when it is out of line
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 08:12 AM by peacetrain
Seriously, they do respond, and there is nothing like a ton of emails to make them take a second look, even better a ton of hard copy by snail mail,,there is not getting around that..

But also, what the media giveth, the media takes away in a 5 to 7 day turnaround. So they will be pumping up McCain now, it keeps people tuned then next week when the republicans are full of themselves, kablooey..down they will go again.

The trick is not to let yourself get caught in their windmill.

I have fears myself, but I let that motivate me.

It works wonders :)

edit for spelling

6. What is wrong with Michelle's comment; even if you eliminate the last part?
And a rebuttal to Biden's comment is easy.

I'm not sure these will be the game changers that the media wants.

13. BINGO....
this is what hapened in 2000.

The MSM ignored everything negative about Bush and twisted Gore's words around for the worst and made him pay the price.

This is starting to happen now to Obama. :-)

12. Those are not game changers at all. MSM is pathetic.
Nothing is going to stop McLame's slide because people now rate the economy as the #1 issue.

9. More Democrats need to step up and reinforce Biden's comment
Biden was absolutely right and lots of people need to say so. I'll start. It is patriotic to support one's country. That means monetary support. Those who can afford more should give more. Some of us aren't struggling - we can afford to help out the country. If it isn't worth our money, then what's the meaning of

COUNTRY FIRST!

10. the stinking media are whores to their corporate bosses.
they need their butts to be kicked to the curb. They are treasonous and not informing the electorate they way they should, this is very dangerous for all of us.

15. It may serve you best to worry less about the things you can't control
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 08:26 AM by 4themind
and more about the things you can. The spreading of "it's al over because the MSM is against us so let's not even try"meme (not that I'm saying it's your intention) can become a self fulfilling prophecy that depresses turnout and donations (who wants to work for something that's already been doomed by outside forces anyway). The question is how do you want us to process posts like these? Do you want us to write letters to the editor? Focus more on new media? Or just depend on the cumulative difference of each one of us talking to our associates and friends across this nation to fight the lies (my suggestion) I'm worried about the problems that we're having only in somuch as the solutions that we can use to fight them. You could help spark a more extensive dialogue on these solutions by providing some possible solutions to the problems you've outlined in your OP's. That way, I think the responses you get won't just be about "ohh you're a concern troll" but rather "Those are interesting solutions you just proposed but here are some of mine". Just my opinion but I present it for your consideration.

18. Nah
What the media did to Al Gore started very, very early. They allowed him to be defined from day one, and, as has been pointed out, everything was good. The economy seemed strong, people felt safe, etc. So distractions easily took hold. I think this time it's too late. The economic crisis this week, in particular, has shown how idiotic these little things are to the big picture. And we've already been there, done that with the press trying to crucify Michelle. As long as Obama and Biden keep at it - hammering that these little things are crap, that they're "sick and tired" of it, as Joe says, that it's time to focus on real issues - I think that will be the winner. After all, the press still insists that Sarah Palin's popularity is confounding Democrats, except ... you know... every recent poll suggests that's a complete fallacy. The media seems to be losing its hold. Hopefully, Obama can just keep insisting the issues matter, not the garbage.

turn it off. I don't understand why people still expect the 'media' to do anything other than what they've been doing for the past 8 years plus. My goodness, they lied us into war! They've been proven liars time and time again. How much more does it take?
