Sarah Palin - history of not wearing wedding ring? infidelity rumors?
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 09:39 AM by Essene

This photo has been discussed, mostly with a focus on the "con-con" cover of The New American (John Birch Society).

However, i think the real question pertains her not wearing a wedding ring. For a small town called the "bible belt of alaska," this strikes me as extremely provocative behavior. Perhaps the rumors of infidelity may turn out to be a tad more "complicated" than expected.

This is just weird.

1. Small towns tend to be boring
Infidelity is often one of the favored past times.

3. gotta admit my small town isn't the most fascinating place
around, but there are some good things about it: Great co-op, nice farmer's market, lots of civic involvement. Can't say that I've noticed that infidelity is a favorite pasttime.

12. not wearing a wedding ring in a small town like that...
seems like a fairly open statement about one's marriage.

It's not like a huge where you may not wear it as part of your "professional image" or something along those lines, and nor can i imagine some philosophical argument about how rings aren't important.

7. My guess is that on the pages on DU, Palin will never be irrelevant.
It would be nice to see Biden discussed as much as the obsession with all things Palin.

9. Naw, don't go down there. I've been happily married for 20 years and ruin rings and other jewelry
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 09:56 AM by nc4bo
My hands are always in chemicals, the rings get caught up in clothing, I take them off to wash my hands and will leave them on the sink or I unintentionally bang my rings against other UNjewelry friendly stuff - you name it, I've done it to jewelry. Once I even had my ring get caught in a branch while it was still on my finger!!

I hardly ever wear my wedding rings except on special occasions and love my hubby dearly.

Please don't go down that hole - not safe.

Edit. friendly jewelry stuff to UNfriendly. ack.

14. and what exactly was Sarah Palin doing that is similar? i mean...
I understand there are times when rings get lost, get damaged, etc.

Perhaps that's all this is.

18. In that photo hehe, nuttin LOL. She's definitely ringless but it's something we shouldn't waste our
time on - let the NE do their thing and a new front cover can sit proudly in the magazine rack at the local Food Lion. The PTA, hockey, soccer moms can have at it ;)

There is no doubt in my mind that this woman is a hot mess of grandiose proportions.

11. Umm - let it go!
Guys.. this is the DUMBEST of the issues to bring up against Palin.

I've been married for 3 & 1/2 years. In that time - my wedding ring has been to the jewlers 9 times (for about 2 - 3 weeks at a time) to be fixed and have the stone re-set. Believe me.. that will quickly be the answer to this - and if we push it McPalin will quickly provide a reciept from an Alaskan Jewelers showing that it was being cleaned or fixed at the time.. and yet again making us look like idiots!

Seriously - people who screw around on their spouses usually don't have a problem doing it with a ring around thier fingers.. it's not like a chastity belt! :eyes:

34. Let's let the rumors go..
Let the media either turn them into fact, or focus on the many, many FACTS we already have to bury her & McCain with.

Every time we pimp a rumor that doesn't turn out to be true (or is unprovable) we end up looking petty.

This chick has a laundry list of reasons why no one shouldn't vote for her.. we don't even need to go into rumors, the friggin facts are more then enough!! :)

21. They probably are.
She strikes me as a win at all cost kind of person, so a man who could help advance her agenda wouldn't necessarily be off limits simply because she was married to someone else.

23. actually... here's my gutt instinct... about sarah palin...
There are rumors about a guy named Scott Richter as well as a guy named Brad Hanson.

This Hanson guy and she allegedly got too close for Todd's comfort. This allegedly took place in the mid-90s around the time of the photo. Hanson was a business partner with her husband, and they had a falling out leading to the business being closed.

The Richter rumors are about a full scale affair.

Here's my evil thinking...

  • She knows she's hot. She is very "cutesy" and flirty even in her public speaking.
  • She put a tanning bed in the governor's mansion
  • She spent $50k on her office in Wasilla (without permission)
  • She is extremely competitive and has always had very high aspirations
  • She has 5 kids and is still popping them out in her mid-40s
  • She married her high school sweetheart
  • Her husband never went to college and apparently has no real aspirations outside of taking care of the family

See where i'm going with this?

31. In case people don't know it ain't the Liberals that are rolling around with everyone
it's well known that the orgy, swinger types are usually right wing, sexually voracious - more about power and overpowering someone than sex as a loving act.. most places I've lived there's what I consider deviant little clubs of these suburban sex clowns diddling each other..

I have a feeling that Todd and Sarah have an "arrangement".. if they don't talk about it and don't get caught, then it's like hunting and scoring, nothing needs be said..

She actually DID have a bet that if Murkowski lost that Todd would have to tattoo a wedding ring on his ring finger.. that came out of a box of Palin "Oddities" that someone had collect over the years about her..

She's a pervert, anything the "lord" tells her to do, she does the opposite and gives God the finger, because she's SO SPECIAL.. she is morally bankrupt, it's pretty obvious by her actions.
