McCain Cries Uncle

How desperate is McCain to change the subject from the economy?

He's so desperate that using the sorriest line yet of his hollow, pathetic campaign, saying that this election is about "Country first or Obama first?"

He's so desperate that he's running a TV ad claiming that someone who Barack Obama has only met once is an adviser.

And he's so desperate that he's actually claiming that Barack Obama is trying to fan the flames of this crisis to gain personal advantage.

McCain obviously hopes to generate an outraged response. But his gambit is so blatant that it is destined to fail. He's read from the same script before, trying save his own hide above all else. It has worked before, but now it's too late.

At this point, McCain is basically crying uncle. He's had enough of this economy stuff. He's finished with it. And the country will soon be finished with him.

4. I've lived in Arizona his entire political career; I CRAAAVE that moment.
You'd be surprised at how many of my fellow Zonies publicly admit to the same.

10. The only thing that would make it better would be if he failed to carry AZ.
:hi:

12. Won't happen, BUT... I'd LOVE to see Obama or Biden just make a campaign
appearance here. It'll draw thousands easily (his primary stop did) and would embarrass the hell out of McCain AND the old-boy republican network here including the AZ reps and the msm.

I'd almost think one of them would do it, and we have some critical downticket races here. They opened an Obama office here last week separate from the state Dem offices; that was a hopeful sign.

Ah, but an O/B win here would be soooo sweet. Oh, man (I can dream, can't I?)

Fingers crossed...

14. ME! ME! ME!
Here is one Zonie who'll be dancing in the streets with you!

By the way, have you all seen the picture of McCain and Charlie Keating celebrating their birthdays together? FDL has it here:

The Picture McCain Doesn't Want You To See

to stage a terror alert to help yourself in the polls.

13. Unfortunately, you can't ignore this shit. You have to fight back, and
if McCain wants to go this route, then it is time to remind everyone of Keating 5.

9. The republican base are rabid, hateful people who will swallow, hook line and sinker
any sort of negativity toward Obama that anyone, anywhere, may decide is "the truth".
they aren't like us at all. they will push a story, screaming at the top of their lungs, and either not care that the story is false, or they will know full well that it is false and will push it anyway.

they are the scum of the earth.

11. I think it is deceptively strong strategy.
He makes news with a ridiculous but emotionally charged lie, the charge gets refuted, but he continues to use it while adding another emotionally strong lie. Reporters move onto the second and refute it while Mc and his Fox media continues to tell the first, second and now third lie.

the media's refutations are being ignored in this sense: the *narrative* McCain is creating will stick even if every single point that went into its creation is shown false.

This alone is what worked to defeat Kerry, and with Obama they have closet racism contributing to the 'willingness-to-believe' factor.

Our hope is that reality of circumstances and Obama's obvious superior skill set will prevail. The stage is working in our favor.
