Am I the only one pissed at the Republican's exploitation of Gustav during the RNC Convention

Gustav was coming and at one point was up to a Cat4 hurricane gearing right towards still Katrina-ravaged New Orleans and looking to hit during Day #1 of the RNC Convention. So what did republicans do? They scaled back Day #1 of their convention and pulled out all of the stops in order to make sure that people were evacuated from the region before Gustav hit.

Gustav slowed down and steered left (thankfully) and the damage was no wear near Katrina standards.

Fastforward 10 days and here comes Ike, one of the most massive-size storms to hit the Gulf Coast in ages. The size of this storm was so big that it was 92% the size of Texas. And with the massive size of this storm, being a slower Cat2 hurricane didn't hold back from the damage that was going to happen to the Texas Gulf coast region.

And now the stories are trickling out about the lack of evacation (althouh some choose to stay) and the slow movement of supplies into back into the region to help recovery.

This was a massive storm and the damage COULD rival what we faced with Katrina and yet the MSM can barely cover the travesty that is happening in this region. And you can't hold democrats accountable - the GOP control Texas and of course Bush is repuke too - why weren't they in there doing the same type of preparations like they did for Gustav?

Perhaps because the whole world wasn't paying attention since Ike came AFTER the RNC Convention.
