Coral Ridge is James Kennedy, a nutjob who calls himself a Presbyterian, but is really a John Bircher in a preaching gown. I once heard him preach about the place in the Book of Acts where Paul is raising money for the poor in Jerusalem. He said, and I am not making this up, that the city of Jerusalem was destroyed because the poor Christians there asked other Christians for a "handout" rather than pulling themselves up by their bootstraps, and because they "owned all things in common". You see, God REALLY hate Communists. I couldn't believe my ears.

So that's who's behind this. Another reason to vote against Palin and her fundie compadres...as if I needed one.

20. sigh.....CNN CNN.......CNN - dropped the ball again and again.

This afternoon they did a short followup about the protesters. The anchor (have no idea who his name is) said "they" made several telephone calls and found out they were some sort of "fringe" group. Paraphrasing bigtime here; Adding we (the viewing audience) can take this information for whatever it's worth and come to our own conclusions.

The big problem I'm having with this is, I know they know who these people are - just like anyone here who watched know who they are but CNN absolutely refuses to identify them by name and we know (or can safely assume) the reasons why.

This would drop right onto the republican fundie doorstep when what they really wanted to do is an anonymous hit and run job.

Been thinking about this whole situation today and think I'll start drafting a letter explaining the situation, what we know or have found out why it is important to identify who/what is responsible for it and get the word out.

Too bad no one bothered to interview the protesters today - maybe something will pop up on youtube or something in a day or 2.

In the meantime, I'm going to start googling around and see if there's some more information out there or if CNN decided to update their protester story.
