and p.s. - Sarah's still saying NU-KU-LAR - guess Republican repetition of this will eventuall just change the word forever since no one seems interested in ever correcting them.

No Joint Clinton-Palin Appearance at New York Rally

ABC News' Imtiyaz Delawala and Teddy Davis Report: In the case of the 2008 presidential election, life does not always imitate the art of well-received Saturday Night Live skit, especially where a joint appearance of Sen. Hillary Clinton and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin are concerned.

Clinton backed out of a protest scheduled for Monday in New York against Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's attendance at the opening of the UN General Assembly after learning that organizers also invited the Republican vice presidential nominee without informing her.

snip-
Clinton aides were described as "furious" after learning from reporters -- not rally organizers -- of the plan to have Clinton and Palin appear together.

"Her attendance was news to us, and this was never billed to us as a partisan political event," said Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines in a statement to reporters. "Senator Clinton will therefore not be attending."

their constant use of the Democrat party.

Now that Palin is on the ticket and the RWers have joined up with him, McCain no longer needs the PUMAs. Just like his first wife, he tossed them aside.

15. On whose part? Palin's?
Or Mrs. Clinton? I mean, if Palin called her partisan, and Mrs. Clinton did not want to participate in something that was CLEARLY partisan, but not supposed to be, and she pulled out, who stays classy?

I am thinking it was Mrs.Clinton, not Sarah Palin for making it even MORE partisan, when it was NEVER SUPPOSE TO BE.

a photo-op with this dingbat. They were were looking for a "cat fight" photo-op they could use with Hillary and Failin. HRC too smart for that one. Go Hill...

Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 01:03 PM by blondeatlast
and she wisely declined, and this is something I should get popcorn for?

It's a made-up story about a set-up Clinton outsmarted and I don't get a problem here at all. Clinton is wise to avoid any comment. Non-story.

but I think they didn't even know.

You gotta admit it would make for a great Rovian rat-fuck but she was to smart for them--and I'm NOT a HRC lover, but I do admire her political savvy.

BTW; why the breathless post without any explanation when the story is TWO DAYS old?

25. The Washington Post had an article theorizing as to who sandbagged her..
there is a former NSA member, a repuke of course, who is advising Sarah on foreign policy and is involved with this particular group that is holding the rally. I can't remember his name, but this article theorized that it could have been him who finagled Sarah to get involved in the rally. It occurred AFTER Hillary had already committed to coming. This was intended to be a political stunt to get the two of them on stage together to make it seem like they were simpatico.

Palin uninvited from UN
(CNN) — Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin has been uninvited from attending a rally against Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad next week in New York, one day after Hillary Clinton nixed her appearance at the event because the Alaska governor was slated to be there.

In a statement, John McCain expressed disappointment over the decision.

"Governor Palin was pleased to accept an invitation to address this rally and show her resolve on this grave national security issue, regrettably that invitation has since been withdrawn under pressure from Democratic partisans," he said. "We stand shoulder to shoulder with Republicans, Democrats and independents alike to oppose Ahmadinejad's goal of a nuclear armed Iran. Senator Obama's campaign had the opportunity to join us. Senator Obama chose politics rather than the national interest."

If Hillary is in any subject line, there's a 91% chance of drama.

In this case there's no reason for it, but reason is rarely a factor, quite the opposite.

19. Was she speaking of Hillary? to to Hillary? This is from

your article in the OP. Nothing in this is speaking to Hillary directly:
In fact, when it comes to Iran, I hope both sides Can work together:

Palin spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt released a statement on Clinton's canceled appearance saying, "Governor Palin believes that the danger of a nuclear Iran is greater than party or politics. She hopes that all parties can rally together in opposition to this grave threat."

Clinton's spokesman had no direct response to the argument made by Schmitt.

20. Palin spoke out on this during her speech today, broadcast on CNN when I posted.
she said Hillary backed out when she heard about herself (Palin) being there and that this was too important and was no time for partisan politics.

I'm sure they'll be relaying it all over the news tonight.

I have little doubt that she is intentionally mimicking Bush's pronunciation, to help strengthen the affinity with his supporters.
