I keep hearing that Sarah Palin is Commander of the Alaska National Guard.. |
|
exactly what does that mean? Does that mean that she has the authority to order them to go someplace if needed, or is she actually doing some real tactical command?
Another point, apparently at least some portion of them were or are in Iraq, as she supposedly went to the Middle East to glad hand with them, so how many soldiers is it that she's supposedly commanding, and are they weekend warriors, career soldiers or what?

1. It's not true. The National Guard falls under federal jurisdiction. |
|
I believe she has the ability to call out the NG in the event of a state problem, like flooding, ice storm, etc., but she is not the Commander. Not by a long shot.

3. I think she called them out for one forest fire |

That's her big, big credential for being able to command the U.S. military. Incredible.
