1. This "mother" surely doesn't. They've got nothing to offer my kid.
Why would we? Bad on health care, bad on education, bad for the future.

3. As soon as I found out that she got on a plane after her
water had broken, I knew that she was either a cold, calculating bitch willing to sacrifice her kid for a tale about how tough she is, or dumber than a box of rocks.

11. That was it for me, also. To risk giving birth to a premature, special needs child
on an airplane without adequate medical support is just too irresponible for me to imagine. My jaw dropped when I read that story.

I cannot image any woman doing that. Then going to work days after your special needs child is born. I guess I'm just a sexist b.

10. i am right there with you medic and still pissed about that..... want it to really be talked about
or she wasnt preg. that is the only logical thing and why so many started looking at that angle

no way anyone is THAT stupid, or that cold. after all, she is putting her own health at risk so being cold could also hurt her.

30. Learning more about her background, I'm not sure the marathon flights ...
... weren't because she wanted to be sure to have the baby on Alaska soil -- in case her husband and his friends are eventually successful in seceding from the United States. Wouldn't want to have one child as a "foreigner", eh.

Regardless, the alternate motivation wouldn't make her any more sane.

24. I went to pay my homeowner's insurance today...
and ALL the women in the office think she's horrible for getting on a plane and flying when she did, and for leaving her four month old to pursue a political office. The resounding sentiment from all seven women was that she is a phony who is trying to take over the campaign from McCain and they would NEVER vote for her. I loved it.

31. "trying to take over the campaign from McCain".... chuckle. Had they heard about her ...
"Palin and McCain Administration" slip, yet? I have no doubt that Palin is especially thrilled to be on the VP ticket with McCain, because of McCain's health.

14. Hockey mom and lipstick
Palin's lipstick reference is insulting.

I can't imagine Israel's Tzipi Livni using cute little lipstick slogans.

Palin runs as a hockey mom, yet doesn't want her role as a mother examined.

Lipsticked hockey mom.

She certainly isn't running on a platform of ideas, knowlege or experience.

21. exactly. the reason i am suppose to vote for her is she is attractive and a mom
fine. i give her the attractive, but she uses it to manipulate and that is dishonest and i do not respect that ergo that has become a negative

and her as a mom THAT SHE IS RUNNING ON, ..... she has failed time and again adn i can list it out.

And I second your statement about knowing where your daughter is and who she's with. Same here. I made sure that I knew. Sometimes it meant losing sleep and planning ahead, etc., but I made sure of it.

That's part of the job of being a good parent.

23. I'm another mother of a special needs child that is for Obama.
We should form a vocal group - maybe I'll email the Obama camp and see if we could get a group going.
I bet we'd get national attention since she is trying to take ownership of this issue.

choice. i am all for people rearing their kids in their own unique fashion. and then there is NOT being a parent. and that is sarah....

27. My mum's a mum. ^_^ Also a former repub and she's dislikes Palin more than McCain.
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 06:16 PM by vaberella
Plus she wasn't a fan of a women who thinks she can divide equal time between a special needs son and the Veep slot. A nanny can do only so much and special needs is special needs for a reason. Don't get her started on the Pregnant teen with that bum of a boy Levi. The forced marriage bugs her more than the pre-marital sex (which my mum has no issues with (she advocates it, as long as your concensual adults)).

35. I can't judge someone's choices, but the hypocrisy is getting awful thick
- Abstinence-only education to be enforced by law, though it failed for her (both as a teenager *and* parent);
- Palin feels her family shouldn't be a matter of discussion relative to the election, even though she's publicly paraded three of her children on the political stage on several occasions; and then there's the husband she raves about, who apparently is VERY much involved in the workings of her office of governor;
- Palin proclaims that her family has been blessed by the birth of their special needs child, Trig, but apparently not so blessed that Palin wishes to spend more time with the child and her family, to share in the blessing;

But Palin's hypocrisy on these issues will have no effect on my vote. I find her unacceptable for so many other reasons, based on what I've learned regarding her professional career -- where she appears to be a nascent version of George W Bush.

37. Mamma of a disabled child for Obama - she thoroughly disgusts me
As a woman and mother, I find her to be a profound insult. Any woman with a high-risk special needs pregnancy should not be flying and risking her own child for her ego. There is just something wrong with her.
