'In the "pigs are flying by my window" department'... Geraldine Ferraro: "Obama is there for us."
Edited on Fri Sep-19-08 03:06 PM by ClarkUSA
From Al Giordano:

In the "pigs are flying by my window" department: Geraldine Ferraro was just on Fox News explaining how on economic
issues affecting women - equal pay for equal work, health care, child care, choice, etctera - "Obama is there for us."

7. How old are you?
I mean, I remember Ferraro and Mondale's campaign and they both stood up for the ordinary people. I am not at all surprised she said this.

My sense is that she was terribly hurt by the Dem reaction to her defense of HRC. I fault her for being out of touch on the politics of the situation, and I say this as one who voted for HRC in my primary. I was upset by Ferraro's outbursts myself, but I did think she was reacting out of shock and a feeling of being tragically misunderstood. A bad call, AFAIC, on her part, but it is understandable.

13. No, she made comments tinged with racism.
She's a piece of slime, and she's been a cruddy Democrat for months.

25. I think she was hurt and might have thought it was
a "defense of HRC" she was making. It wasn't.
When the same comments was found to be something she said about Jackson 20 years ago...well that wasn't good.

But this is a surprise, first time she has said anything positive Obama that I have heard. As recently as last week she was still pretty nasty about him. Even if it was from hurt/anger it just went on and on.
But good for her because what she said today IS the point, what he believes and will offer. For the sake of our mothers, our daughters...or fathers and sons...McCain needs to be defeated.

17. I saw this earlier today...
the talking head guy tried his best to get Ferraro to say something negative about Obama and she wouldn't I couldn't believe it has she finally seen the light or she knows that Palin/Ferraro are through or maybe she has finally realized why Obama won in the primaries..

24. Thanks for the independent DU verification.
I have a feeling that someone or something "got" to Ferraro. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall when that happened.

18. You mess with Gerry's money, and now you got her attention
so she gets down to brass tacks. Took hitting her in her family's wallet to get her to stop drama queening about imagined slights and perceived fake insults.

Gonna be a parade of repubs and moronic Gerry types coming around to Obama's team in the next few weeks - it is a sign of how very dire our financial situation has become, that the Bush team can't control it to implode AFTER the election, which is what all the prior moves this year have been about.

It is out of their immediate control, and the wheels are flying off before Nov. 4th. So, yeah, this will make a lot of people change their religion on politics, so to speak.

20. Satan called.. he needs a jacket
BECAUSE HELL IS FREEZING OVER.

Whatevah.. I guess we get Ferarro back as a trade from Lady McBeth (or whatever the fuck her name is) who hopped on the McCain Train this week. Even trade? Ehh.. who knows. I guess it's 1 less vote for McCain - and that's always good. :eyes:

28. I'm not so sure
Having her essentially contradict herself only puts her on both sides of the fence. At best she deserves an "its about time" for finally stating the bloody obvious.

22. Well, that's certainly a relief.
I was really worried that Geraldine Ferraro could ruin this for us. Since she's, you know, so very influential and all. If she had endorsed McCain, we would have been doomed.

DOOMED!

26. This doesn't suprise me one bit...
She was the first female to be nominated by our party for the second seat, she has always championed Democratic principles, and it took her some time to come around (although it was longer than expected) Glad she said as much on Fox News, obviously they won't be using her anymore.
We're all on the same side -- WE ARE DEMOCRATS!
