All recent polls have him up between 4-8 points. Heck, I'd rather we go after Indiana before we go for Missouri.

The key is in the favorability numbers. Look at the number who view Obama somewhat unfavorably and esp very unfavorability. It's high in MO.

I'd always assumed it would go for him and could safely be counted as such, though I may have at one point hoped we could flip it. But odds are that was never the case, and it might be best to focus on other battleground states right now (but obviously not to ignore Missouri).

Take Oregon, make it solid blue. Take MO, make it lean red. Take Wisconsin make it a toss up. It's all about creating the horse race narrative for the sake of buzz and ratings. The proof of this is CNN is apparently ignoring their own WI poll that showed Obama up by 3. Narrative. Narrative. Narrative.

and about the same in other polls.
