Look at this pretty map.

I know MI and OH could be problems for Obama, and maybe without them and FL and VA and NV he's sunk. But it's lovely to think at this moment that the map really could go solid blue from Maine down to Virginia and over to Iowa, and solid blue all along the Pacific Coast (except for that fucked up AK). That would be one great big chunk of blue for a change.

I'm so sick of red electoral maps.

1. I'm sick of idiots who vote for republicans no matter what
They don't give a shit about the issues. It's all about being a republican. I'm sick to death of them.

2. Hey.. put a light-pink dot on top of Omaha, NE
Right now it's very close.. slight lean for McCain, but NE splits their 5 electoral votes, and we're working our asses off to get the Omaha congressional district to go Obama.. which would give him 1 EV and McCain 4.

Might not sound like much.. but in a precieved 269 / 269 tie.. Omaha could be the blue dot that puts the election to Obama. Here's hoping we could really call this place Obamaha, NE on Nov. 4th. ;)

5. I'm working my darndest...
to try and convince my mother to vote for Obama. She could vote in either MD or NE. She recently told me she was going to vote in NE (she'd vote in Omaha, as that is where her house is). I just enlisted my sister to help convince her. When she goes back out to Omaha I'm going to give her phone number to the campaign to call her.

12. Hell.. give ME her phone number.. i'll call her. :)
yes.. we need every Omaha voter we can get for the blue team. We have lots of repugs here.. and they vote. I work with them.. several are my friends (politics aside).. so any dem voters we can get here.. we need. And help with the down ticket.. tell her to vote for Esch.. we need Lee Terry OUT (congress).

8. But Obama's winning the electoral votes by far more
than the popular vote, according to FiveThirtyEight. I just checked the latest at their site, and he's up again to 303.1 EV's versus McCain at 234.9. That's a 68.2 spread! In the popular vote, he's winning 50.1% to 48.3%.

Just one week ago today, it was Obama 266, McCain 272 electoral votes. The bounce is over!!

18. Thank goodness. But as seen before, a state's electoral votes can be stolen
if the state contest is close enough. Caging, intimidation, criminal activity... the bounce may be waning but the contest is still there. I guarantee you the evil pukes have not given up.

14. We must keep working hard
But I predict that Obama takes everything blue above PLUS: WV, VA, NC, FL, OH, IN, ND, MT, NV and possibly AZ.

The longer the campaign goes on, the higher McCain's negatives will go.

I mean . . . I hate to say it, but just look at McCain standing next to Obama, and without knowing anything about their positions, character, demeanor or anything, who would you select as your leader? That level of selection will have an impact.

17. I love 538!
And yeah, it really makes the polling that much easier to follow and the blog posts are also rather informative.

The projection/trend graph neatly shows the progression of the election without any of the media hype or "narrative" which I like.
