Palin Blames Dems for Withdrawn Rally Invitation

By BETH FOUHY
The Associated Press

BLAINE, Minn. (AP) — Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin told supporters Friday that "Democrat partisans" had pressured organizers of an anti-Iran rally in New York next week to withdraw an invitation for her to appear.

"This should be an issue that unites all Americans. Iran should not be allowed to acquire nuclear weapons, period," Palin said at a rally here. "Unfortunately, some Democrat partisans put politics first and now no elected official can appear. This should not be a matter of partisan politics."

Palin had been set to attend the rally protesting Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad organized by major Jewish organizations and sponsored by the National Coalition to Stop Iran Now. New York Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton also had been scheduled to appear at the rally, but canceled after learning Palin would be there, too.

The former first lady, who suspended her own presidential bid in June, has sought to avoid any appearance with Palin, who has emerged as the new female star of the 2008 campaign.

On Thursday, organizers announced that they had withdrawn their invitation for Palin to attend, saying they did not want the event to be overtly political. GOP hopeful John McCain criticized the move in a statement to reporters Thursday, suggesting Obama backers pressed for Palin to be disinvited.

"John McCain and I are committed to drawing attention to the dangers posed by Iran's nuclear program," she said, "and we will not waver in our commitment. I will continue to call for sustained action to prevent Iranian president Ahmadinejad from getting these weapons to launch a second Holocaust."

5. There is no way in hell Hillary Clinton would appear with her.
How long would it take? A half hour, maybe, before the McCain campaign put out another lying commercial talking about Palin and Hillary being best buddies and how Hillary's supporters should vote for dim bulb Sarah.

9. How does the McCain campaign win over Hillary voters?
Attack Hillary directly and publicly by calling her a "Democrat partisan" and blaming her for getting dis-invited from a rally, just begging her to hit you back and begin a public confrontation.

That'll work wonderfully. Palin is so smart and savvy, McCain was brilliant choosing her.

12. McCain AND Palin are idiots.
Sarah could have said "thanks, but no thanks" to John McCain and kept her high approval rating in Alaska by continuing to cooperate with the investigation and working with the bipartisan legislative leadership. Instead she put her personal ambition ahead of finishing her job here -- now she's going to pay bigtime.

We should slip up every now and again by saying Repuklican or Rethuglican or Repubelican.

See how that goes over.....grrrrrrrr.

Edit: OTOH, maybe they do but just don't care. Some of DU's grammar cops should hit them up with some DU love.

14. hey you Fascist Pig
go climb up someone else's a&&; I'm sooooo tired of hearing you whine!

Yes, I'm an elitist because I know you for what you are; a sub-human succubus here to drain the earth of her natural resources and bring death and destruction on the world for your end days celebration.

The truth hurts, but here it is- from one elitist to a moron: the Rally didn't want a known evader of an ethics violation hiding at their podium. You know what they say - you lay down with dogs....and yes, you would be the flea in that scenario.

Gotta run- my soy Latte is ready. See ya, Second Place Palin.
