Just went to the Duval County Dem Headquarters

As a lot of you may know here on DU, NE Florida-Jacksonville/Duval County has been a very red area of florida. I just went by the Dem HQ to donate and pick up a few yard signs, bumper stickers and buttons. McCain was here a few days ago and spoke at the Veterans Arena and I heard conflicting accounts as to how many people showed up to hear him speak. Barack is going to speak tomorrow here at 2:30pm at Metro Park. It is a large outdoor venue and I'm hoping thousands show up to hear him. My wife and I are going along with a couple of friends. Hopefully those Dems in this area will flood the park and show the Repubs how strong support for Barack is in this area. Lets try to beat the McCain attendance count and scare the repubs and show them their grasp on this area is not as vicelike as they may think. Just trying to get the word out........ we need to get people out and involved.

Try to take at least one shot from the far edge of the crowd, as far "up" as you can get. Corporate media never gives us anything but a "tight shot" so we can't gauge the size of the crowd...

13. To NY Blues.......

I was in Buffalo, NY this last week working with real blue collar guys and the number of guys that were supporting Obama was incredible. Out of a group of 12 guys all but one were Obama supporters. I wish it was that way here. Of course all those guys were union folks so you know they know who is on their side. They were also very knowlegable about the issues and weren't sidetracked with all the Palin sideshow crap. Unfortunately I can't say the same for comparable people here in florida that I have met. They are usually red guys. All you have to do is wave the flag in front of them and they will believe anything you have to say. It's sad but the johnny lunchpail crowd down here are informationally pretty stupid, lazy and want their information spoon fed to them in very simple terms.

No I haven't. I read here most and usually never post, there are many more savy folks here than I. Just glad to help spread the word of Obama's visit here and I hope NE FL Dems turn out to show the country that the Dems are strong here. We need to have a great turn out. One thing I will say, it was hard to find the Dem's HQ. Also, they need volunteers. I plan on trying to get over there to help all I can and I want to encourage others out there to do the same for their local Dem office. It is contagous when you get around those that have commited themselves and their time to a cause much larger than themselves. We need to stand shoulder to shoulder. Looking forward to a great time tomorrow!
