NO, it's NOT a typo. You've seen the videos of Palin trumpeting "Palin-McCain," and if you haven't, Google them.
McCain lights up Obama
by Mosheh Oinounou
BLAINE, MN — It is clear that we are entering the final stretch of the election as each candidate continues to take up his rhetoric by leaps and bounds.
For his part, McCain spared no words Friday in describing Barack Obama as a politically-motivated partisan who puts himself before the country, commiserates with the nefarious Wall Street types who brought on the current crisis, whose policies will bankrupt the country and who leaves “this country at risk.
Campaign officials believe that McCain has found his populist message and regained his political footing after going off-message early this week when he said that the fundamentals of the economy are strong (and coping with off-message surrogates). After playing defense early on though , McCain has pivoted back to offense slamming Obama and Wall Street for the past three days.
But at a rally in the Gopher State Friday most of his fire was aimed at Obama:
* “That’s how we see this election: country first or Obama first.”
* “When it comes to cutting taxes for seniors, for working families, for small businesses my opponent didn’t put the hardworking people of this country first. When it came time to support our troops fighting to protect our freedoms and way of life my opponent said he’d never deprive them of the funds they needed to fight and then he voted to do just that. He voted against funding the equipment our troops rely on as they fight to protect us. That’s not putting the men and women of our military first, my friends. When it comes time to reach across the aisle and work with members of both parties to get things done for the American people, my opponent cant name a single occasion in which he fought against his party’s leadership to get something done for the country…that’s not putting the country first.”
* “We have heard a lot of words from Senator Obama over the course of this campaign. But maybe just this once he could spare us the lectures, and admit to his own poor judgment in contributing to these problems. The crisis on Wall Street started in the Washington culture of lobbying and influence peddling, and he was right square in the middle of it…this is the problem with Washington. People like Senator Obama have been too busy gaming the system and haven’t ever done a thing to actually challenge the system. That’s not country first, that’s Obama first.”
* “A vote for Senator Obama will leave this country at risk during one of the most severe challenges to America’s economy since the Great Depression. You see, when it comes to growing the economy and protecting you from the corruption of Wall Street and Washington Senator Obama just doesn’t get it.”
