Once again the repugs and their lapdogs in the media are warning Dems not to play "political games" with this crisis.

Oh, but McSame gets to trash Obama on the economy even though he and his party caused the whole thing.

And it sounds like the Dems are going to let them get away with it.:puke: :argh: :grr:

3. Of course we're allowed to say Phil Gramm, Phil Gramm, Phil Gramm... and
Rick Davis lobbied to loosen regulations on Fannie and Freddie.

And how bout all the other Old Boys in John Sidney McCain III's network ?

Don't forget their guiding motto-- Country Club First !!

4. Don't forget who was in the majority for the past two years.

Also, there were a lot of bills that got through when we were in the minority that we could have filibustered on, but didn't, and to my recollection, no dems stood up against what was going on. But, please remind me if I forgot a dem hero. Both sides of the isle have been complicit in this catastrophe, and most do not want to call attention to their inadequacy.

7. Horseshit
2 years of a scant majority (<60 in the Senate) means no re-regulation reform would have passed, and if passed, not vetoed. Same with the House, except that you can still pass legislation with a simple majority there.

Phil Gramm and the rest of the Reagan-era deregulation foamers were the architects of this debacle and <2 years of Democratic legislative majorities are in no way to blame, especially since they came in under a Republican President who would have vetoed any proposed legislation.

8. Beat me to it
That's a GOP talking point, just as the urge that Dems not "politicize" this is.

Obama was right in the middle of it with the lobbyists.....they caused this crisis

I never realized that Obama had that much clout. **sarcasm**

They have been playing that clip ALL day on the news channels...likes its fact.

6. It won't wash . . .
The last flake of teflon peeled off McCain's butt earlier this week. The media doesn't luuuuuuv him anymore. And they didn't call back after their one-night stand with Palin.

9. Give then time. This is not the moment.
There will be hearings, Democratically led hearings that will place the blame where it belongs.
The case will be carefully built. I wonder in the early days of the 29 crash how many really
understood who and what caused it.

The good news these events will usher in a whole new era of regulations, not just in the financial
markets but all across the government. This is a era-changer.
