How do Republicans REALLY feel about women?
Pre-Palin, Republicans have never had much use for women beyond making babies: (feel free to add more)

“If we took away women’s right to vote, we’d never have to worry about another Democrat president." - Conservative writer Anne Coulter

In his 1992 Senate bid, McCain was joined on the campaign trail by his wife, Cindy, as well as campaign aide Doug Cole and consultant Wes Gullett. At one point, Cindy playfully twirled McCain’s hair and said, “You’re getting a little thin up there.” McCain’s face reddened, and he responded, “At least I don’t plaster on the makeup like a trollop, you cunt.” McCain’s excuse was that it had been a long day.

“But I do know that it’s true that if you wanted to reduce crime, you could — if that were your sole purpose — you could abort every black baby in this country, and your crime rate would go down." - Bill Bennett, current conservative Republican talk show host and former United States Secretary of Education on conservative Republican Ronald Reagan.

“Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream.” - Conservative Republican Radio Host Rush Limbaugh

“Women were doing quite well in this country before feminism came along.” - Conservative Republican Radio Host Rush Limbaugh (note: scholars agree feminism "came along" in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries and was mainly concerned with women's right to vote.)

"Women should not be in leadership when it comes to matters of public policy." - The Rev. Matt Trewhella, co-founder of Missionaries to the Pre-Born, a Milwaukee anti-abortion group.

1. Look at Palin for the answer
She is their 'perfect' woman. A simpering, pouting barbie-doll girl-woman who will act subserviant and deferrential towards them (no matter how inellectually or physically inadequate they may be). The moose-skinning stuff is a bonus turn-on.

She reminds me of those 'man's woman' types who profess hatred and jealousy of other women. Her record so far on the rape kits tells volumes about her.
