I just went to electoral-vote.com
This is much better today. :-)

I don't think we'll be seeing it dip below this number at this point. In my humble opinion.

1. The economic crises has scared the bejeesus out of people.
They are in flux and will want something new.

Then, we get 4 weeks of debates, and the results of the troopergate investigation.

Obama, Biden, it's time for your A++ games!

And, everyone else get to work!

4. This'll scare them more: McCain wants healthcare run like banking has been
Edited on Sat Sep-20-08 07:39 AM by muriel_volestrangler
Opening up the health insurance market to more vigorous nationwide competition, as we have done over the last decade in banking, would provide more choices of innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation.

John McCain, Sept/Oct '08 American Academy of Actuaries magazine

"innovative products less burdened by the worst excesses of state-based regulation" - yeah, that's worked out great, hasn't it?

5. Josh Marshall is talking about that at TPM.
As soon as you think McCain couldn't get any more clueless or out of touch, he comes along and surprises us again.

Obama/Biden will pick this up and run with it. No question about it.

7. And Paul Krugman's put it in his blog too - there's a lot of blogs with it on
I think it'll spread far and wide - as someone here on DU said, it's calling out to be made into an advert. Not only does it scare people about what McCain wants to do with healthcare, it also shows he's a complete hypocrite in his calls for regulation in banking.

6. Here's the Cliff's notes
Based on polls up until yesterday.

POTUS race:

Obama 273 EV McCain 267 (too close for me but I will take it.)

Senate races:

Dems 56 seats Repubs 43 seats 1 Tie (North Carolina between Dole and Hagan

House races:

Dems 242 seats Repubs 193 seats

Looks like the Senate and House will both gain a few seats which will help put us in a very good position for at least the next two years.

15. It's good, but there are many days to come...
Look at the graphs. People change minds for all sorts of reasons.

The debates will tell us a lot. If Obama can hit a triple or home run on the first and third debate... that would be good.

16. I like that map because Obama does not require OH or FL to win.
Plus, I think he'll end up with VA, which puts him at 286. :patriot:

They talked about including people who use cellphones in polling. That's significant.

Thanks for the heads-up about that site. :-)
