Why are investors begging for taxpayer funded handouts? |

While it's clear the government may have to do something about the economy, any rescue plan should be paid for by investors, especially those wealthy investors (and corporations) who reaped enormous profits and quickly diversified to minimize their losses in what would amount to a pyramid scheme. I also think if we're going to give handouts to the investor class, then we should do the same for their victims, and that too should be paid for by the wealthy investor class.
It's really great that Obama will be coming out with his own proposal, and it's going to put the Bush administration and McCain campaign in an awful bind. I hope Obama shoves the idea of personal responsibility down their faces and proposes that the wealthy investor class that created and profited off the current crisis pay heavily.
