Why in the end Obama will win.. An Iowa perspective, Hope is the key |
|
As an Iowan, and a proud Obama supporter, we turned to Senator Obama for a number of reasons.
First of all, he has ideas and plans, to run the country. As I was posting in another thread, he was actually criticized here for having too many specifics, and not enough sound bites.. so I find it amusing to see people criticize Obama for not having specifics. That is just willful ignorance.
Secondly we identified with Senator Obama. He is a Midwesterner, he speaks like us, with that halt in his speech when he is thinking. Here is is like first thing you learn.. think before you speak. If you ever listen to Garrison Keillor you will get the drift of that also. That hesitation as he thinks out a question, gave us relief, that here was someone who would listen.
But most importantly, he gave us hope. Hope that we could tackle the problems that were and are all too evident to us in what we will to face in the next administration.
The hope that we can do it together. Unlike President Bush who told us to go shopping when we were attacked by the Saudi terrorists on 9/11, Senator Obama included us in the solutions. We are an integral part of his plan to move the country forward. It is not what he is going to do for us, but what we are going to do together.
There is power in that hope.
This is why Senator Obama is going to make a GREAT president. And that is why we supported him in Iowa

Thank you so much for this post! This is why he will win! I hate the nay sayer posts. I'm starting to really doubt a lot of things being said here are really to help us get Obama elected. Thank You Again for this post!

I could only take so much of the uh ohs.. :hi: had to add my perspective, because letting the uh ohs have all the say, gives them more clout than they really have.. just my opinion

4. I live right next door to Nebraska.. |
|
I am out in that northwest corner of Iowa. And, to be honest with you, I think it is more about fear of changing from one party to another.. So I am thinking that might be happening out in those other states..
The stay with the devil you know, than take a chance with someone else. Because you keep seeing these things about Obama not having specifics, and that scares people, and it is absolutely untrue. So I think the troops on the ground in those states are going to be a great help to get Obama elected. That more than anything is the fight we have.
All this racial stuff is just trying to get the democrats off message. The republicans have no message.

5. I don't understand how people vote against what is really best |
|
for everybody. The current administration is filled with corruption, liars, and they've pretty much "broke" the damn country. If a democratic administration had done that I would be voting republican! I can't understand the blind loyalty to a bunch of fucking crooks!
